Would be funny cause we’d only increase our cap hit by 750000 get Barrie and Toronto gets something good out of it too.  Screw Sakic lol

To be fair: Miller, Myers, Benn and Hughes.

You clearly weren't paying attention in the playoffs Makar is ready

10 games doesn’t make a career.

He also had Barrie to lean on. We’ll see how he does being the go to guy.

Easy to shine when Barrie is taking the tougher minutes:

The Avs have dynamic young forwards. Timmins & Makar + Bowen Byram to keep the puck moving up ice from the D to replace Barrie..

And with less defensive risk than Barrie. It may take a year but that's fine.

They got one of the leagues best 3rd line centres, really an absolutely ideal 2knd line match up centre.  He's not the ideal young captain Bo Horvat is?  And he is a sh!t. But he is not far behind talent wise. Might not even be far?  He is a two time 30 goal scorer, and has hit 60 points in the NHL. Only 15 months ago. Bo has only done one of those things.

You are under rating Kadri.

Their forwards are not the problem.

Thinking Makar or Byram can step into Barries role seriously underrates what Barrie did for that team.

They’re going to score lots no doubt. That doesn’t always equaL playoffs though. Gotta keep the puck outta the net too.

He played 17.22/game as a rookie and had 6 points in 10 games. You sandbagging him doesn't change that.

The summer isn’t over.  I think

Sakic will add Experience on D.

Im not sandbagging anyone. Thinking that a rookie can automatically step into a player like Barries role after 10 games is laughable.

You hyping him doesn’t change that.

Nice trade by Sakic.  He gets a centre to play behind Mac.  Who do the leafs have now for their checking centre?  Is it still going to be JT?

Marleau was pushed out by the signing of Tavares. So basically, Spezza replaces Kadri on the Leafs depth chart.

He's not stepping into Barrie’s role though, that's the part you don't get, he will play 5 on 5 with Ian Cole which they were a near perfect fit for each other.

But wait!

Hughes can step into that role right away and finally replace the absence of...

...something we never had.
