RowdyCanuck
Loui for Quick why cause Quick plays the same style loungo did before Clark worked with him and helped him reach another level. Then we could move Markstrom for a First hopefully. If Quick agrees to the trade we could not honor his ntc and so Seattle could select him in the draft. Also Quick has done everything and could be great for Demko... Why the Kings do this is cause Loui will be easier to move then Quick and Loui is owed less real money. Two bad contracts for each other and if Quick finds his game again we will be laughing thoughts?

Drakrami
Eriksson for Quick Markstorm for 1st ha ha Did you check Markstorm's career save% and GAA?

I said hopefully a first for Markstrom. I do think a deal for Quick is do able. Theres a reason why he made the list of NHL worst contracts.

Pears
You do realize Quick is still Jonathan Quick right? Benning would never be taken seriously again if he made this offer.

Jim might have to add but could be worth it if Jim can get decent value for markstrom and if La wants to move Quick.....or theres Crawford.... also I can't see many people running to get Quick after the season he just had so buy low. Quick has a recapture contract. Doubt LA has any appetite for trading him on the odd chance that he elects to retire and they get hit with a recapture penalty à la Luongo. If they trade him today without retention his overall recapture penalty against LA would be 7.2M. If he retires 2 years before his contract is up - it's 3.6M x 2 against the LA books. The penalty would be negligible for his new team. LA is rebuilding and have been trying to move out some veterans for picks/prospects. MacLellan and Blake talk of how it's going to take some time to get back to where they want to be. Doubt they would have interest in Eriksson when they are talking of younger/faster and integrating their young players in the lineup. “We’ve got to manage that cap here for a couple of years, so we’re going to improve this team internally,” Blake said. “That’s why we’re acquiring picks, we’re acquiring prospects and we’re getting some new players in our system. We’ve got to get them playing, and our guys that have been here for a few years that had down years, we’ve got to get them back on track.” Bowman talks of how he thinks they will have one of the best tandem in the league with Crawford/Lehner. Doesn't sound like they have interest in trading Crawford. Edited July 27, 2019 by mll 1
Fanuck
Loui, worst case scenario, stays on the team and Green gives him 12min or so per game and he just floats around the perimeter like he's done here from the beginning. Not really helping and not really hurting us. Quick, worst case scenario, has to play 60min/night if Demko gets injured again and destroys our attempts at finally making the playoffs. Pass. 2
elvis15
Ugh, no. I'd rather keep Eriksson than trade for Quick. He was bad last year and that contract isn't helping.
JM_
why trade "bad for bad" and make it more expensive? the baseline for these crap for crap idea trades should at least be that it doesn't cost us more.
Phil_314
That's a joke and kind of disrespectful to Quick, who before last season has not had a losing season in the league. Wouldn't be surprised if a team like Columbus jumped all over the prospect of getting quick after losing Bob.

Once there's a need for them or any team, and if Quick is available by then, I'm sure teams would come knocking. Still don't see it happening for Loui of all people. JeremyCuddles
People dissing Quick as if he has been bad for years. Eriksson has been pretty close to terrible for 3 seasons. Quick has had one rough season. Same people that probably think Markstrom is an elite level goalie cause he was good for half a season.
Alflives
And once again Loui ends up in Utica, or retiring.
The_Rocket
I think the only way this happens is if we trade eriksson and markstrom for Quick and Kovalchuck. If the canucks also find a trading partner for Baertschi then I think there’s a fit there
