BlueDragon23
The boys played a phenomenal first 40 minutes, but man did they slack off in the 3rd. Gotta think fatigue played a factor in second of back to back. Marky has not lost a step! Lundqkist really kept it close for the Rangers though. If he was not as good as he was in the 2nd, the game would’ve likely been out of reach. Let’s close out the roadtrip with a win! J.I.A.H.N
I really hope they recover from this game before the Detroit game I think with all the travel getting back east, the 2 early games, and this game having such an exhausting 3rd period, I could see it hard to get up for Tuesdays game...….l Lets hope I am wrong! They are a much better team, it will be a good test. I would bet you see Gaudette in for Detroit....Possibly Demko Edited October 20, 2019 by janisahockeynut

Schaller's penalty was godawful. He should've been benched for that one. Also, Virtanen was lucky he didn't get a penalty for that checking from behind hit. That should've been a penalty. I'm all for sitting Virtanen/Schaller, and putting in Gaudette and Eriksson. Make it happen TG. The most frustrating thing about Schaller and Virtanen are that they are so inconsistent. Virtanen, I noticed, has been playing much better than before, but this game was probably one of his worst. He missed the check on Zibanejad too when he was floating in no man's land. Wouldn't call this one of Virtanen’s worst games when he drove the play early which led to the PP which led to Bo’s goal. He's a bit of a puck hog When you have an empty u try to shoot firat. If he passes and it gets turned into a quick turnover they can get burned going the other way. Don't want to try that the way things were going.

fecklund
It's early, but through 5 games Marky is sporting a 0.932 SV% and 2.19 GAA We're also letting 30+ shots through per game when he's in net. Need to bring that number down. 1

Probably the best two periods we've had since... man, maybe since I've been here. Looked a little tired in the 3rd, little nervous with the puck. Never going to complain about a win though, especially after the first two periods.” - Green 3 2 3

Popular Post -Vintage Canuck-
“Awesome. He was great tonight, especially in the 3rd period... He's had a tough week. To see how he played tonight, it's good for him, it's good for our team. I know he hasn't talked about it, but he's had a hard week. You feel for a guy like that who competes the way he does and loves to win and is a warrior for our team. We were a little nervous putting him in tonight, he hadn't had a lot of time on the ice. I was happy for him.” - Green on Markstrom 2 2 1

So stopped playing suggests "they quit"...but that wasn't the case. They ran out of gas but continued to battle hard enough to just squeak out the win. Marky was big in that. But it's unrealistic to expect Energizer Bunnies...the batteries do wear down and I look at the half full cup - the one where they came out flying and established enough of a lead to get the win. Then...barely held on as they'd spent it all and the Rangers saw blood. I'm just saying they stopped skating, you guys can beat this to death if you want. I will be critical when necessary, even if we win. Once again, if Marky didn't win this game for us, everyone on these boards would be freaking out right now. ilduce39
Character win to hold on there at the end.. even if it’s mostly Marky’s character shining through. Pretty classic 3rd period of a back to back... not sure what Green could do with no whistles and you can’t call a TO on an icing. 1

Nothing wrong with being critical, but without reasoning it's just complaining. You need to think why before making criticisms. 2

They dominated while there were actual whistles stopping play. Im not exactly sure if we can use being tired as an excuse for pro athletes. But u r right. they did play hard and gave effort. What got to me wasn't their effort. It was the reality.
