The "other" side (Democrat; left; anti-Trump etc.) is either represented by total dimwits or hot-tempered savages that could easily be triggered. Have never heard a honest, balanced, sophisticated discussion there. I'm no fan of network news, I was surprised at how this interview transpired. That said, i don't know what they said before the video starts or anything else. Just his answers as blm leadership, check the transcript in the video description. Unfortunately the interview went sideways and nothing meaningful was accomplished.

I'd like to start a discussion from the 'ground' up - see if there is any reasonable, non-partisan, non-ideological grounding to be gained - before proceeding to all the divisiveness that ensues once most people take their positions within opposing, battling herds. It's disconcerting how entrenched so many people can get - without being able to answer something as "simple" as the original matter that underlies an entire (global) dynamic like this. What - exactly - is "race" in the sense that we're fighting/arguing about? I've spent a long time thinking about this - researching it - scientifically and socially/culturally - and the 'answers' are weak at best once you really dig into the history of "race" - but before I do that I'm wondering if anyone can give a solid answer to that question above. I'm also wondering if it's worth a thread of it's own - a purely 'philosophical' thread that doesn't really descend into the micro/minutae that we often get caught up in. If the mods think it's fitting, I'd be happy to start one and outline where I'm coming from on the matter. Would it belong in "Canucks" talk under the circumstances - given the team itself has engaged in the matter? Or should it go to 'off topic' - which imo it isn't, really, under the circumstances? Race is merely a social construct. All humans are one species based on zoological evidence. The main reason people have different skin color, different facial and physical features is based on where they and their ancestors have lived. Race has no inherent physical or biological basis in fact. Edited August 28, 2020 by PhillipBlunt 2 1 4

Starting like this is pretty incredible. Only comparables in our history is the Linden teams of the early 90’s ... Ronning, Linden, Bure, Courtnall, Adams and Babych always brought it come playoff time. And their playoff performances speak for themselves. 1
Popular Post Roberts
I vote game-related conversations should begin tomorrow, and other subjects should be brought to a different thread. Thoughts? It would just be nice to get back on track. 4 1

Exactly because of this. It’s an 82 game gauntlet and then 4 7-game series, largely without penalties, to win a Cup. It’s not the same grind at all. Guys usually come in injured and leave crippled after their 82 games. Not this year. It’s a level playing field, buts guys aren’t coming in on one leg to start. It gives it a different feel. More like the NFL season. The Canucks are exactly the kind of team who will benefit from extra days between games, especially in this series, even though they had momentum coming out of their last outing. I hope they come out like the did in Game 1 against STL. See you there. Its a fair assessment, but you can only play the games in front of you and as they come... I do agree it suits fast teams with smaller players though. Will it bother me, should we win it.....not one tiny little bit... 1
