Lots of couples shopping at Costco tonight.  At least they’re limiting it to two and not whole families.

One of my local stores has a body out front that makes sure you use the hand sanitizer and only allows 1 shopper in. If you don’t like it go to the other store.

Jester

That sounds very reasonable and I think more people would accept that most times

But with every thing there is always, the "but", which sometimes is just as valid

Could your wife not stay outside the store, could you?

What happens if everyone uses that same reasoning?

Now, if the store, controls who goes in and when...….hey I am all for it

And support your process 100%

In Nanaimo today, I went to Costco...…...I swear to god there was a line up 700 ft long, maybe more

I just left...……...I then went to Home Depot, where there was a maze made out of pallets that people had to

follow to enter the store. There was an employee letting one in , one out, and everyone was practicing

safe distancing in line...…………….I felt very comfortable, and everyone in line was in good spirits

So, IMO, it is on the store and on the persons

I went at 6:30 and only about 10-15 minute wait to get in (Nanaimo).  They have staff around the warehouse with signs to remind people of social distancing

The question that was asked WAS black and white and all it required was a yes or a no.

Please the questions were 20/20 hindsight questions and did not come close to deserving a simple yes or no. Trump would be proud however.

it is a virus

it is not arnold in disguise

it does not search out "prey" in the sense you suggest

why give it these extra features???

I believe the reference was to the majority of deaths related to this virus are focused around nursing/care home residents. Those residents are certainly the most vulnerable in society.

This is certainly not giving the virus "extra features" or "fear mongering'. It's stating simple facts.

He wasn’t wrong. Covid-19 is more dangerous to some than others. All are ‘prey’, but some classes, such as immune deficient, and those with underlying health issues are more susceptible. That said, young people and healthy people have died too. The virus can kill anyone.

but it is nonsense

appears to be founded on fear mongering

a virus is a virus

it does not possess intention to track or pursue prey

it is spread through people by inattention to distancing and other clearly identified methods

it is people who allow it to thrive

we need to continue to be disciplined to defeat this virus

we have it within our control to effectively stop this virus

the virus without assistance from hosts (us people) is in fact powerless...

why flip the focus?

Not at all viruses act the same nor impact the same. This one is particularly easy to spread/contract even when asymptomatic.

Of course that's how it works, because it needs a mode of transmission doesn't change the fact that it moves from victim to victim, taking out the most vulnerable of the species.  It invades the body, uses cells to replicate itself and then causes the host to pass it on to the next host.

Seems predatory to me.

the language is empowering a mindless entity

why do that ?

it is a completely inaccurate portrayal

it is a risk

it is dangerous

because it harms us

that is true

it blossoms

and spreads

by our own action and activity

it does not possess any means of self transportation

or mobility

we move it by our ignorance, stupidity, carelessness

so maybe focus on us

and don't empower it

Just like a predator does........it takes out the weak and compromised, the easy targets and then when those are gone moves on to the next most vulnerable etc etc.

Sometime people speak in metaphors. Learn to distinguish between metaphorical speak and literal speak. It will serve you well when speaking to others.

If the entity is mindless, then how will it be empowered, which requires sentience?

I can do this all night.
