King Heffy
Happy he managed to finally win a cup. Great career and hope he enjoys a long retirement with his family, especially after what he went through.

I think he lived up to the hype pretty well. There was a time when he was the best in the league. A D-man's shouldn't be measured on strictly on points. He's was well beyond a "solid" defenseman and every team in the league would have lined up to have him aboard.

However this guy was touted as the "next great" d man. Many figured him as the next Coffey/Niedemayer level player.

In the end he was like the ironman version of Alex Edler. A quiet, reliable leader on the blueline who could eat up minutes like a horse. More durable but more expensive than Edler. 1 1
BlueDragon23
Unfortunate how it ended, but health and family always come first. Congrats on a wonderful career, Jay Bou. And we Especially appreciate those years you represented Canada on the international stage. Enjoy retirement. 1 2
ImConfused
Wonder if he'll end up in a defensive coach kind of role?
Ghostsof1915
He was a solid defenceman, made millions doing what he loves. Health and family I understand. Don't think he has any regrets.

Coconuts
One of the most steady D in the NHL throughout his career. Wasn't flashy, didn't really pile on the numbers outside of Florida, but he made every team he played for better. Triple gold member, 1200 games, nothing left to prove.
