Popular Post -DLC-
I feel like this was inevitable....I'm ok with it, as long as they don't try to one up each other with some crazy stuff. Popular Post Devron
I won’t buy another jersey if that’s how they are sold. I hate the idea but that’s the life we live 2 2 7 5

I think I’ll get one with a player name on it this year and then I will be done. Last year to buy a jersey imo
Master Mind
Weren't they saying last year that they would never puts ads on the jersey? Helmet ads were one thing, but combining them with jersey ads is going too far.

bigbadcanucks
Don't like it, but gotta accept it. Adapt or perish. Natural selection finding its way onto NHL jerseys. Darwin would be rolling in his grave right about now.

Gnarcore
Knew it would happen after the past few covid plagued seasons. I still think it is a disgrace. I certainly will never buy a jersey again if an ad is on them.

Just an educated guess here. The NBA jerseys sold in stores don't have the ad patches the player jerseys do. I assume the NHL would be the same. Either way it's funny to see people get outraged over a tiny patch on a jersey that you won't notice during play. It's not like the Canucks logo is being replaced by a massive "VISIT RWANDA" ad on the players chests. 1 3 1

-DLC-
Quote 3-inch x 3.5-inch ad space, so slightly bigger than the @NBA patches.

Voting with my wallet here. I feel like this might be a tad of an overreaction because most team sports have advertisements. The NHL was one of the few that didn't have that. The other one I'm thinking of, but maybe misremembering, is football. We already have players being sponsored by certain products, and players have no issue advertising for companies that give them free stuff. If more money can be infused into the game, the more exposure there will be, which will actually increase the competition of the NHL versus other sports. I don't really see what the outrage is about. It's capitalism. There's going to be good and bad parts about it. Advertisements aren't really that bad, given how bad capitalism can really get. The European leagues, as someone mentioned, have so many ads. The fact that we have resisted for so long is pretty incredible.
