Canucks are middle of the pack in GA, so it's not as bad as people make it out to be is it?

It is. If Demko goes down for 2 weeks the season is over.

We also stand a good chance of going 0-6 at home.

Regardless of who takes his spot, having Rathbone in Abbotsford is the right move

He'll benefit more from big minutes over there, getting powerplay and PK time he wouldn't get in Vancouver

If we want him to be more than a bottom pairing guy, and he's capable of it, he'll need to be able to play those minutes

True, like he would have to start the year since he doesn’t require waivers.

Juolevi as a 3rd pair option with Hamonic would certainly look much better.

I understand giving him a look, but it didn't make sense to keep him. He was always best served being in Abbotsford playing like a top 4 guy.

We probably only have one or two wins right now if it’s not for Demko.

good think he is a member of the team then hey?

You could say that about hundreds of good teams over the years, should we asterisk all of them for having a good goalie?

Agree.

Still think Hamonic will need a few games to get into game mode but our defense looks a lot tougher to play against now.

Id be surprised if he slots in next game, but who knows.  One thing it does is likely slots Poolman down to the third pairing, which is a good spot for him.

Finally.   We need Hamonic back.  A more stable defense will generate offense, and of course keep the puck out of the net, especially come PK time.

Want to see what TG and crew can manage with a more complete lineup, and icing half an AHL d doesn't make it easy on the forward group or anyone else.   Hamonic might  need a few games to get going but this is great news for Canuck fans.

Better be someone playing on their off side.

Fans need to boo Hunt and make it clear that playing him is not acceptable.

Hunt is innocent. Wouldn't do that to him. It's Green that needs to be boo'd.

Maybe we will finally hear Fire Green chants?

Got to say they've really made a mess of this bottom 4 defence these last couple of seasons.

Great sign getting Hamonic back but too much was expected of Rathbone too soon and Juolevi was the victim in the end.

Let's hope that Hamonic is playing well and stabilises this defence, but this isn't going to be enough if we're scoring 1 goal a game.

I think as our roster gets healthier, Green gets less and less excuses to blow games. With Hamonic in the fold that is a very solid defence with something like:

OEL - Myers

Hughes - Hamonic

Schenn - Poolman

If they can't get that defence to play well then our coaches really need a shakeup.

His best isn't good enough.  He is not welcome here and management needs to be pressured to get rid of him by any means necessary.

This is a little extreme Heff. I’m not happy with the decision but you can’t boo a guy when he’s done nothing wrong.

Poolman has done pretty decently,  if Hamonic is on the third pairing or the second it will make all their jobs easier.   PK minutes will get distributed.   Our L side is an issue when OEL gets a penalty.   Even when he doesn't ... who gets the second pairing PK minutes?  At least our R side is going to stabilize.   For all those few remaining fans on this site that haven't hit the panic button yet .. well let's just wait and see how it goes with Hamonic back soon.

Last season we completely sucked too out of the gate, worse then this year, we were Keenan era awful.   Around the 16 game make we played TO, we outplayed them but lost but you could tell there was buy-in with the exception of Miller who kept making lazy passes infront of our goalie.   Then clawed our way back until Covid.    I think expectations are way too high.

That defense should be good enough that even Bumgardener couldn't screw it up, but he probably will.
