why? It’s why this organization just will never be considered a serious contender. Your pk and pp need work. Soo.. give them a day off. A joke.

This is something negotiated between the teams and the NHLPA.  There are so many practice days and days off.
I am unsure how they are decided, but there are lots of rules to this.

Ridiculous to compare him to McDavid. There’s only one player in the league on that level.

If he wants to make 9-10 mil though he’s gotta be a game breaker. Compare him to any player in the league making that kind of money and he’s not bringing that level.

This was a summer he needed to work on his strength and conditioning and it seems like that isn’t the case. He’s still getting pushed around way too easy.

Glad im not the only one who noticed.

All the falling + he looks exactly the same as he did last year. I dont want to assume - but did he go to the gym or put on skates at all during the off season?

They are taking the day off so no power play or penalty killing practice. Makes sense.

And then the power play fails and the pk continues to be, just bad. okay, yeah, that makes sense :picard:

Everybody saw that there is a huge problem with this team, from radio and tv commentators, to people like me with zero coaching knowledge, are all voicing out loud about this.  It’s the coach’s responsibility to find the issue and correct it.  But Greener has no clue and keep on making the same mistakes, playing the same system (even with upgraded personnel)….  Definitely time for a coaching change.

I look at all the draws they lost on the PK tonight. It seemed pretty bad.

 Which gets me thinking… wasn’t Dickinson brought here to be a defensive specialist… a beagle /sutter replacemnet…

he’s flying under the radar imho .. he looks invisible to me

Well, if you look at NHL.com and look at the FO % you will see that our best FO man (Horvat ) at 56%, has taken zero (0) PK face offs............

Miller (21.7%) and Dickenson (18.2%) are next up with only Lammikko with 47% comes even close to 50% draws on the PK. Let's not even put EP into any PK discussion.

So, I find it very easy to accept your PK observations..................

But maybe someone knows something as to why Bo does not play PK...............it is not like he could be any worse.

Agree on the weight training. He looks frail. Also wonder if he had covid and has some residual effects.

No I’m asking for any coach with actual NHL experience running offense.

Crawford? Boudreau? Kruger?

Start gauging the interest of these guys and whether they’d consider taking over as an assistant. Good chance of being head coach by the end of the season.

well newell brown have the anaheim PP running at over 20% and i can't even name a player off the top of my head beside getzlaf.. i'm sure coaches have some input on how they want their assistant to run things.. otherwise whats the point of the head coach.. just to decide which goalie to put in and juggle lines?

So frustrating seeing the team snapping the puck around and having the Predators on the ropes only to see Green put out some grinders to kill the momentum.

This team has the ability to open teams up and score some goals. But it seems like as soon as they make a mistake Green tells them to dump and chase again.

This team is built to make plays at speed and off the transition not by grinding it out behind the net.

At this point, I hope Green & friends, just stick hard to there guns cause in the end there overall record will speak for itself.

Just for tonight:  the effort was obvious but the product is still disorganized.  As for the special team - there is nothing special about it.

Not sure anyone can make the cycle work like they did. You can't teach telepathy.

Put the puck where your guy is gonna be not where they are.

Spread their pkers out, open up lanes, and get them chasing.

This team is doing the opposite of that right now. They’re standing still, telegraphing passes, and waiting for the other team to react.

The Sedins couldn’t teach them no look passes like they did, but the fundamentals for every great powerplay involve the basics that they used.
