Boston Bruins had two covid cases today (Marchand and Smith) and considering we played them in a matter of days, I wouldn't be surprised if we have more cases ourselves beyond Lammikko and Schenn.

It might be best to just shut things down, the covid cases continue to spread like wild fire in the league.

I'm still doing a happy dance about Marchand....This doesn't make me as happy as I'd feel if I could see his nose imprint in the plexiglass in the Canucks end of the ice, but it's close... ;)

So, we know how evolution works. The more people who are unvaccinated, the more variants will spin up, and the more people who are vaccinated, will contract Covid. The vaccinated just won't get symptoms as bad as the unvaccinated.

The key to stopping this, is everyone getting vaccinated.

South Africa has about 24% of the population vaccinated, it's not surprising that this variant sprung up out of there.

How is stuff like this allowed on this site? If you replace “unvaccinated” with any other segment of the population it’s hate speech. Unbelievable.

When we have gatherings we use rapid tests to stay safe, regardless of vaccination status. If arenas and other venues did the same thing we’d all be better off.

Enough with the hate on certain segments of people. We can all spread this thing, even us “clean” vaccinated people.

If it wasn't for the unvaxxed, apparently this wouldn't be happening. Hard not to be angry and segregate

Again, I have no empathy for them, whatsoever.  And, yes, they are fuelling and they are putting Frontline healthcare workers through hell and at risk on a daily basis.

In my school we had an 8 year old who contracted COVID from day care.......her step dad was a rabid anti vaxxer/masker and he contracted it from her and died last month.  Now this sweet, sensitive girl has to live with that for the test of her life.

I have zero empathy for them

Did I say that she did? Someone said politicians should just listen to the experts. That's what Horgan does.

I don't think we should be surprised that when you fill and arena with people, regardless of their vaccine status, people are going to get sick.

Maybe the arenas should still be empty.

I think you're overstating things here, Abby.  The covid #s in BC have been going down since the NHL season started, so there's little indication that peeps are getting infected during a game.  If players are getting the virus, it is probably rated to situations away from the game.

As we all know, Covid can infect anyone, regardless of vaccinations.  Fortunately, the folks that are double vaxed are unlikely to become very ill, which is the biggest concern right now.  This is why we have proof of vaccination codes.  The fewer interactions that the unvaccinated have with the general population (indoors), the less probability of them catching the virus (which means fewer admissions to hospitals, ICU wards and morgues).

If everyone were fully vaccinated and always wore the approved masks when indoors, we would probably be dealing with Covid more like a highly infectious flu. Unfortunately, the vulnerable folks and people that can't be vaccinated, would still be living the nightmare.

Of course, things can change rapidly when a mutation arrives at our shores.  This is why the plans/restrictions keep shifting, which leads us to feeling like we're in a game of whack a mole.:o

Radio saying nhl was testing only every 3 days.  Perhaps that's why they didn't pick it up earlier and stop the spread, presumably between teams.

Well, maybe this new variant will get us back to being a little tighter with our behaviour.  Too many people behaving like it's all behind us
