Why does Seravalli have to be such a bitch?

How so?  The media knew all our signings a long time ago.  They have the inside scoop on this team

and also sources in other organizations.

Allvin lies pretty regularly, so not sure why the smarminess against Seravalli.  For being good at his job?

Allvin isn't about to pay somebody to take Myers contract when it expires next year.

Hughes-Juulsen

Soucy-Hronek

Cole-Myers

Cole or Soucy will more likely play with QH.

Hirose or Wolanin should be on third pairing.

Juulsen is an AHL player call up for no more then three games and so far Woo is ahead of him.

Pretty sure we're looking at:

Hughes, Cole

Soucy, Hronek

Irwin/prospect, Myers

That's likely what we'll see. If I can remember right Juulsen played well with Hughes. I would suspect he can't handle top pair minutes and you'd like lly see Hronek play with Hughes innthe 3rd period of tight games when the bench gets shortened.

I think the Canucks only way to really improve this D and put a cherry on top of of their good moves this off season is a TRUE top 4 guy to play with hughes

pesce, Carlo, tanev(?) etc

Related move as well is moving out myers 6m and moving that money further up the line up

Pretty sure a 2 way deal is for him to play in the AHL teaching younger guys and being the first call up.

Other wise why sign him when Hirose and Wolanin looked good last year?

Because it's better to sit a vet in the press box than a kid that needs actual playing time to develop. And in case none of the kids actually outplay him.

He's the bar they have to get over, and he'll play and train his ass off to stay in the lineup and continue collecting an NHL pay cheque. Internal competition = winning.

Will Ferrell Agree GIF

That's right and guess he sits in the press box or not.

He can have LE's spot lol

Agreed, although I like that PA is willing to “mislead” and doesn’t feel compelled to be fully transparent. There needs to be a level of discretion when discussing possible moves with other teams.

Sj added duclair who has 3m cap hit on expiring deal.

I could see them wanting to add him to flip at the deadline. If they can get something to take the contract now then they will have a great trade chip in march. Despite his bad penalties and questionable plays he can be tough to play against and block a lot of shots. Not bad as a 3rd pair guy however is paid as a top pair guy.

At the deadline a team will only have to pay 250k range of actual money and if sj retains 50 percent of the cap at the time they could get a 2nd or 3rd pick for their troubles.

Flip side I could see the canucks hold him until the deadline for this reason, and then trade him to re-allocate the cap for a player on defense that is a better fit at the time. By then will likely have someone on ltir and be able to make the best of the situation on their own.
