The concern is that the sound of the organ doesn't fit with everything else the Canucks are doing to create a boisterous atmosphere in Rogers Arena. Instead of continuing to build hype in the crowd, it's thought that the organ causes the energy in the arena to dip.

Thoughts? I rarely go to games so I might not have the best judgement on this, but does the organ really drain energy in the building?

Great, so more time for lame pop music. Nearly projectile spat my iced tea when I read "efforts to create a boisterous atmosphere". Playing "You're the one that I want" by Olivia Newton John practically on repeat is not how you create a boisterous atmosphere.

Lost in the 'Bruce there is it' resurgence of the team is the fact that we have the worst DJ in the entire league by a country mile.

I hope they also take a look at the DJ as part of this.

The music can really add to or take away from the atmosphere. I feel that high energy should be the aim for the most part and tweeny bopping hits really aren't a great hockey sound. Things like that Hello song and Call Me Maybe. No. I'd rather hear the damn organ.

I'd rather hear them tuning the organ.

Personally, I'd love it if they used the organ for some classic hockey songs more.

I think whenever they do throwback nights, it would be cool to have only the organ for a night. Bit of a throwback to old time hockey.

If you can't play something that doesn't get the guys motivated - then just have a guy and hit those darn keys.   Be boop be boop be bloop bop never inspired anyone.    Would rather they play classical music or even Jazz.    Or the Empire Strikes Back... or something that is fun to listen too.   U2 was great but it's been done enough.   Sure would be nice to see us in the Black Skate every home game - and start the intro with AC/DC back in black.

And I should add this, my friend that I go to games with is a DJ and I agree with her that, as a DJ, this guy is good at what he does. In the right setting, sure...but just not as a hockey DJ. There's clearly a difference between dance/rave music and hockey arena pump up music but I'm not sure this guy understands that.
