A: Two options: image.jpeg.b13bd8756eac28215f1ae6b3953ddb77.jpeg  OR Put On Sunglasses GIFs | Tenor

What lipstick on a pig or a 5'2" sort of A list actor? I don't get it.

Edit:  Cruise is an A list actor.   Bad joke (above).   Anyone who's got a cult following automatically puts butt's in seats.   Not sure he can actually get a crowd of people to watch a bad movie just based on his acting alone, but man does this guy ooze ability (he's smart enough not to do bad movies).   And takes his craft about as serous as anyone in the business.  Except maybe James Woods.   If he was going to play a gas station employee he'd got out and work for one for a year first lol.   Cruise would buy some gas stations, get his slaves to take care of it, and then strut in and learn the role in probably 5 minutes.   Sad but true.    Tom Cruise ... does the guy age?   Kilmer looks like a sack of potatoes sitting out in the field for three months after some hard rain.   Cruise?   Whatever Scientology has done to him, it's working for him so power to him.

As an aside.  Even Cruise was in awe of Jack Nick in a Few Good Men.   Everyone on the entire set was.   He did his 9 minute monologue perfect, every single word, first take.

When we were winning, MG seemed like he turned things around. And he did, but lots of people won't admit the price that he made the team pay for winning was far too high. The lack of young prospects during that regime really set the team back many, many years. It would require the next incoming GM to nail every single draft pick in order to recoup the losses. 2016, obviously, was a mediocre year, at best, for that incoming GM.

How many guys have TB "drafted" the last little while?   Or COL for that matter outside of their tank job.   Only 6 guys and that includes Byram (4th overall) and Newhook (who didn't play many games really) were on that championship team. There are more ways to skin a cat.   Don't think anyone would disagree that MG couldn't draft anyone ... we'll eventually he drafted Horvat ... and Coho was decent enough with us anyways.    But it's not a total failure either.   We got six division titles and one cup run.

Tom Cruise Lol GIF

What makes him not qualified to be an A-list actor?

He's done a number of roles, many of which has distinguished him from the rest. He has done both action and non-action (drama - see A Few Good Men, for example) that showcase is full traits. He's also a distinguished director/producer, but neither of those have anything to do with acting. He's won three Golden Globes (which he's supposedly returned to the Hollywood Press)

There is no "sort of" as an A lister.

Dude it was a joke.

Edit: For clarity - why would we want a 5'2" hollywood actor on our D?   I'd have picked Jason Mamoa. And don't have any issues with Tom Cruise.   Guys amazing - flying helicopters and F-14's?  I'm not sure he's human, but bet he'd have made a great hockey player too if that's what he wanted to do instead.

I edited my post.   The sort of, was i suppose stupid.   Cruise is one of a kind.

I think we should sign ufa Mason Geerston out of NJ. 6'5" hard nosed dman. Inexpensive shut down type. Has played a few NHL games, a highlight was 15 min in penalties vs Bos. Former Vancouver Giant. I think he would love to come back to Vancity. He fights which is good but we need to coach him into being effective in our end.

I have been trying to figure out how amazement is going to fix the defense on this club? It just looks so bad if they end up leaving it as is because they are strapped for money. It’s hard to see how they go about changing it. Can they even change it this off-season? Is the plan to just bring the same defense back? It’s really early but I don’t see a lot in free agency. Anyone have any good guesses or thoughts?

Others teams needs obviously dictate this if we are the ones shopping.

I think at this point we might be using a combination of forwards that may be expendable to us ,  or a combination of a D man with a forward to fill our need.

Garland, Hoglander, Dickenson, Pearson might fill another teams needs where required.

The D man most talked about moving on our Team is Myers.

Dermott showed well for us ,  he may have some value in the same capacity to another team.

I like Burroughs game, he is skillful, smart and  his grittiness will now be complimented with the other physical players we picked up this week.

Breisboise seems to have been in our minor system for years now without getting a legit shot.. he might be an add on for another team requiring depth.

Personally,  I think they should train / camp / and play til Christmas with this roster if they can.

I think we’re above the Cap limit by 2m right now…

it’s going to look like totally different Canuck Team out of the gate..  and the best move might come just before Christmas.

His Reacher films was as bad as they can be if you look at the books.
He tried to be a man he never could be.

.......talking about "Lip-Stick on a Pig", has anyone heard if our old AHL calibre coach Green is still on Unemployment Insurance, or has he fooled someone else into finding a job as a pseudo coach?

Scrap Marino from that list. Only thing I can’t stand is the fact they seem very relaxed about everything not that they should panic but they should understand why their fanbase is at times frustrated with the lack of action and promises. Nothing has changed from this group except additions. I know there is a lot of time but every time we see a deal like the John Marino deal, the frustration builds. They seem to have that attitude that things are great and it’s time to go on vacation. We are done and happy. Betting yet again on bringing back the same team is so redundent  by now. They have to get rid of some of the forwards. There is not enough ice for them but the longer they wait the more opportunities they miss to improve their team. I thought Marino would have been perfect.

So right now things look something like this...

Kuzmenko- Miller- Boeser

Hoglander- Petersson- Garland

Pearson- Horvat- Mikheyev

Dicknson- Lazar- Podkolzin

Lockwood, Joshua

Hughes- Schenn

OEL-Myers

Rathbone/Dermott- Burroughs/Poolmam

Demko

Martin

Am I missing anything?

Forwards are deep af (too deep, considering Podz isn't even top 9) but that blueline is just not good enough. I don't understand how management can possibly feel we can walk into the season with our blueline looking like that. And God forbid one of Hughes, OEL or Myers takes an injury.

I agree. It just doesn’t fit. Really The d doesn’t have an identity. That’s the biggest issue. It’s sort of mediocre at best. Besides Hughes, there is nothing that really excites me. They need a mean top 4 dman.RHD preferably but those are so hard to come by.

Here are my thoughts.   Allvin and JR have found out (and i've been saying this for a year now!) that Miller isn't going to move the needle nearly enough to warrant a trade.    And that this team could be at the top of the Pacific come the TDL with  Vegas a worse team, CAL a worse team and only EDM staying the same or maybe improving a bit, and LA improving but not a threat really either.  JR and Allvin are put in a tricky spot which i think we could all agree on.

What do we have?  Well we have a first line and two second lines.   That's a team strength and believe we are going to use it.   Our PK has improved, and the final 25 games of the season we were at or near the top on the PP (plus we draw more penalties then most teams!)....Believe we are also going to use that.

And we have a top ten goalie.  One of a dozen or so teams in the league that have a horse that can play 65ish games a year.

It's the cap era and we will never have it all ever.    Something is going to go down to improve our D.   So what's next?   We trade Miller for Marino!  And a month into the season a different thread about how we fix our center depth lol.   Exactly what's going to happen  - even now i've seen comments about worrying about our 3rd center.   Good grief.   We've got a top five center team in the entire league as of right now, and it's made a tiny marginal improvement.   Sure if we load up the top line then it changes, but then our LW becomes beast mode.   I think that it's summer, there is too much anxiety and worrying about the what ifs.   And way too much stress about the RHD area.   Wonder if JR really is going after Klingberg.   That to me hinges on what is going on with Miller right now.

I agree batch; trading one need to create another will not move the needle. Our offense and goaltending is top/comparable to best in the conference, with our current depth being best.

On Defense, we have the major pieces, just need to match offensive with defensive specialists. Though I like Myers, he is not that defensive specialist we need. You can see it in Hughes and OELs #s when they play with Schenn, even though he is not in his prime anymore. I hope that we can move Myers and Dickenson out with some sweeteners ( draft picks or a depth player) and replace them with 1 RHD in the 3-4.5m range (Kulak would have been great). A lineup of the following would be great in 2022..then look for Schenn’s replacement next year:

Hughes- New RHD

OEL-Schenn

Rathbone/Burroughs-Dermott/Juulsen/Woo
