Canada's 2003 World Hockey Junior team also accused of sexual assault

Are we the only country whose junior teams are being accused of sexual assault? If so, we should maybe learn how other countries are implementing their programs? If the allegations are true, what would possess the minds of these young men to treat a woman as an object? Is our glorification of the players or the game somehow enabling this behaviour? Is it too much time spent away from parents or school or moral/spiritual support groups? We need to find out - for everyone's sakes.

Fluff piece from the NHL.

Events allegedly happened 20 years ago

Any of those guys still playing , other than Marc-Andre Fleury?

But do go on, and make an investigation; it will look like they are actually doing something.

A couple of the Finnish players sure as hell were trying in Ostrava after the gold medal game.  Fortunately the bar was full of Canadians and the situation was handled.

Not surprising that this kind of garbage has happened a lot. Probably still tons of unreported cases out there related to NHL players or Major Junior players. Glad it's getting known and talked about more now.

Not to make light of this but what the heck is the NHL going to do? Most of these guys are retired.

Yeah, I'm not sure what this has to do with the NHL. Seems related more to just the players and Hockey Canada on the hockey front.

Spoiler

The source who contacted Nater works in the hockey industry and said the video began with a Team Canada player standing outside of a room, answering questions as if he were doing a pre-game interview with the person holding the camera, who is not identified.

The player told the camera operator that viewers were about to see "a f---ing lamb roast,” the three sources said. After the hallway interview, the camera was then carried into a room with a pool table, the source said.

The video shows roughly a half-dozen players taking turns having sex with a woman who was non-responsive and lying face up on the pool table, the source said.

Glad these awful things are coming to light. Drunk, privileged, and horny lads throwing their weight around in a mob (mostly an assumption projected from the 2018 incident). Where are the coaches and other adults that are supposed to be looking out for people? These guys are mostly minors but are left alone as if they're adults. Would be great to see the guilty parties held accountable, but that far in the past is going to make it pretty hard to prove. Really feel for the victims.

there are some things I suppose, they can ensure that the names of the players involved never make it to a place of honour, and keep anyone out of any NHL positions.
