This team needs cap space. Would like too keep these players, but can't with cap space.

I wouldn't count on getting much cap relief from any deals the Canucks can make..........maybe a bit from each deal, but they're not getting a "cap dump" from anyone, imo.

Just trying to find some different content than the last 6 years.

I notice the forum has fewer and fewer posters, indifference is taking hold.

Posts derailed, posters being the subject instead of the post and trolls beating the bushes making arguments without substance.

Same forum content and same team results, won't change until the GM, Allvin, makes changes otherwise just tune in to a soap opera.

My two bits worth, there is nothing to keep. They have had 4 years to show more than a flash and 6 point improvement, they are like watching a game of horseshoes keep getting close and think that is good enough.

The only thing they have entrenched is a losing environment and attitude but that happens when a team loses 2 games for every one they win.

BOOM!

If they can't keep Bo trade him but try Miller first ,trade Pearson, Myers, Stillman, Schenn and BB.

Should get a couple picks and prospects that will help in the next couple years.

Why would we trade schenn?  Hes the only player with balls on our team

If he doesn't want to extend and is walking anyway...?

He may just garner a 2nd. Though I'd prefer we extend him if possible. Especially as a nice safety valve for a Hughes partner.

Could always try to package Horvat with one of those, it would diminish the return but open up the cap space eventually.

Say Miller and Schenn to ? for picks and a prospect maybe take back a bad contract. re-sign Schenn and give him a letter with a longer term or much more money.

Horvat with 50% retention or retention based on return. One year.

BB and Pearson, again with retention based return, two years of hurt.

Myers is after July 1 and then might as well keep him to see how thins are, he will have higher value to a desperate team in a playoff hunt or position at the TDL, big RHD that can play over 20 minutes could get a very good return.

Stillman, maybe give the kid more of a chance, they would have to play the kids at sometime anyway, a learning season, he hasn't had much NHL time

Probably not a lot of Suzuki's out there but there could be a diamond or two.

Another year goes by but with hope :D improvement for the future.

Options are good and we can get the cap space needed.

We just have to be smart and take the deals that can also help.

There is only one correct answer, and that is sellers

There is absolutely no logic to anything else.

It would be a failure on this management team if they can't free up some cap or add some future assets at the deadline, preferably both.

well some major moves are inevitable as they're not going to just let Bo and Kuz walk for nothing, so at least big moves will be made.........whether it's those two or not remains to be seen.

I agree a major move or two needs to happen. But as a hockey trade rather than a fire sale.

Our ominously huge brain trust will come to the conclusion that we got to the playoffs with this group, why change it.

The playoff chasing strategy will continue, as long as, the team is profitable and the short term signed FO, will be more interested in earning another contract vs doing what is best for the team.  All they are hoping for NOW, is for one of Demko/Martin to get hot and take the team up, to NHL Purgatory

There’s absolutely no point picking anyone up before deadline lmao! All we have to think about is taking one more tough season and just go full tank for hometown Connor Bedard, Michkov or Fantilli. Get rid of all our over paid bogus contracts. Open up cap space for horvat. And get some actual solid Defence-men! Might as well bite the bullet this season! Full Tank now! Cut ties with all our bad contracts. Try to add  number 1 picks. Keep our young core! Petey, Horvat, Kuzmenko, Boeser, Michyev, keep Miller unless he wants a cup then trade for Number 1 pick to a to a contender, or somewhere else for a high number 1 draft pick. Keep Demko, Hughes, Bear, Borroughs. Everyone else up for grabs or just play better perhaps…it’s gonna be painful! We Need a top 3! Hoping for hometown Bedard! That will instantly make this team better for the future! Just my opinion on this matter there’s no reason to add we can do that in the Off-season!

this man's a joke of an owner.

After the Orca doofus, was sure happy to have ownership that could afford this team.    Was a refreshing honeymoon phase wasn't it - but get that's over now.    We don't have the actual facts on this guy, just some assumptions and a lot of smoke... a lot of smoke.

I’ve been on team rebuild since gillis was fired.

nothing will change until this man isn’t involved.

Doesn’t seem to matter who the coach GM president is the same problems persist.
From gillis saying this team needs to be rebuilt in 2013 to the Linden fiasco. Even the miller resigning after PA/JR said horvats the future.

Maybe I missed it did louie thank the team the ownership I heard him thank the Fans/city.
huh.

This is probably the only time we have had him that he is worth something. We could always resign him off season.

So why not?

Agree.  Would like to keep him, but if we could get a 2nd in this draft for him, we have to take it.  Schenn is the voice of reason and the one showing the effort this year but in a bigger picture perspective, he's expendable.  If we didn't get good return, I'd say extend him.
