How do you figure that???

Not the best stat but Miller is -14 while Bo is +3.

Horvat is a -65 throughout his career.  Miller is a +28.  Why do people only look at this year when they talk about Horvat?  He's been in the league 9 years.  He's an average defensive player.  Got one Selke vote in 9 years from Ben Kuzma.  This myth that he is some kind of defensive guru ala ROR or Bergeron is quite laughable really...

He's our best prospect now. Goes to show how rough our pool is.

I mean this season seems like Klimovich is really coming into his own. He's only still 20 yo. I think he's gotta be like #2 behind Räty now, no?

Guess the Islanders will realize how defensively average he is then.

To the poster that wondered where Bo ends up. It’s the Oilers without a doubt.  McDavid and him are extremely close. The Isles don’t stand a chance of re-signing.

LOL. That would be devastating for the Canucks. Bo coming back to the division, to haunt the team that traded him.

Oilers are all offense, no defense and no goaltender.

I can't see Horvat going to Edmonton.

19-8-3 to get to 96 and even that might not be enough.

I mean any team could sneak in sure. But they’ve gotta beat out the Caps, Pens, Panthers, and Sabres. Even the Sens are right there with them if they won their two games in hand.

It’s an extremely long shot.

Good for us

I'm sure Horvat won't be their shutdown centre or on their first unit PK.  He was brought in to score goals with Barzal...

So outscore their problems.

At least they got a decent defense right?

RIGHT?

Klimovich is going to be a star.  He has all the tools.  Big, strong, fast, great shot.  He needs to work on his defensive game, but Colliton is working that out.  I say he makes the Canucks in 2 years...

For me it was when Domi cross checked Joshua right into the net and Bo ignored Domi completely , I am sure Joshua who is on that line would have hated sticking up for Horvat ever again after that- Bo is not some skinny kid he has to ignore supporting his teammates- I was done with him then after supporting him

No way BO was going to jump Domi and risk injury.  His retirement contract is more important than sticking up for his teammates...

Bo is great friends with max domi, they were linemates for 3 years in London. No way he would have gone after him.

I do agree that Bo's defensive game is pretty overrated but the +/- stats are also a product of your linemates/team too.

If we're comparing Miller to Horvat in that department, let's not forget that Bo played on some pretty horrendous canucks lineups in the past near decade that were finishing bottom 5...

while Miller played on NYR teams that were good enough to make the playoffs every year he was there and then to an even more stacked Tampa Bay.

Bo's a good face-off guy but yeah he was no means a defensive specialist. No ROR or Bergeron, not even comparable to Kesler.

Lol.

So you’re not taking into account that he’s been on a bad team for pretty much his entire career??  That he’s often put on the defensive duties against other teams top lines??

Miller joined the Canucks in 2019.

+11

-7

+15

-14

Bo from 2019

-15

-6

+3

+3

Neither are defensive stalwarts.  BUT who does the coach put out to take the draws or go against the other teams top lines?? Who does the coach put out there in the dying minutes??  It’s Bo every time.

So don’t tell me the Miller is so much better at defending than Bo when that is far from the truth.

There's always subtext that comes into play.

You may be right, but there's always the possibility that there's

something going on behind the scenes.

Sorry, but that doesn't mean jack.
