if Beauviller is consistent next season,  we have a better point producer than Horvat at half the cost.

A healthy Hroneck bolsters our puck moving abilities and shut down Dfence, adding more points also.… and an up n coming Center in Raty who displays far more physical aggression than Bo ever did.

Moving Bo Zo has already cleared the thick air out of the dressing room and players are sharing thoughts and stepping up without hesitation.  That reason alone makes this a winning move.

Funny how the numbers line up next season...

Beauvillier 4.15 + Hronek 4.4 =8.55

Bo =8.5

Regardless how it was taken, he has added fuel to the fire when he returns home. He is going to draw in more fans to watch his return to Rogers Arena, matchups between the two teams, and on TV creating more drama and anticipation. I can see how this part is cool, honest, and adding more personality to the game.

If anything this has added more entertainment which is great for the game...and easier to separate from him now. With all due respect to his tenure in Vancouver, great ambassador for the team, he was here for 9 seasons and did a whole lot of nothing to help us get to a playoff position. He can crap on the organization if he wants and rightfully so, but he was also part of the problem of mediocrity here.

I'd put Bo = Hronek atm, (depending on Hronek working out/ signing an extension), which give us Beau and Raty as the cream...

If Beau (or Boeser/Garland) can be used in a deal to get another top 4 defensive D, I'd call this a massive win.

Alf compared it to the Linden trade, and it could be compared to it, if we get another D. Filling in the gaps without losing significantly offensive output, is a massive win.

If Raty turns out to be at least a serviceable 3C, then its a home run.

From Canucks Army:

Bo was a loyal soldier for nearly a decade and captained this team through some of the worst iced lineups in franchise history. Is it Bo’s fault that the GMs above him floundered for eight years, struggling to ice a contender? Is it Bo’s fault that an incompetent GM’s near-decade-long failure to ice a watchable product turned Rogers Arena into an overpriced ghost town? No.
Getting mad at Bo for showing some personality is an absolute loser mentality. Let Bo crack jokes at his old team’s expense! It’s great WWE heel content and great commentary on the previous regime’s utter failure to accomplish anything with him as their leader.

You keep bringing up Boeser’s contract which has nothing to do with Horvat. That was a contract originally negotiated by Benning whereby Boeser’s QO at the end of last season was $7.5 million. They didn’t want to pay him that amount. So they negotiated a 3 year deal to lower his AAV to $6.65 million so they wouldn’t lose him for nothing. That deal has zero relation to Horvat’s contract.

In terms of Mikheyev, he was only given a 4 year deal. His AAV was $4.75 million, but his total money was only $19 million. That’s not a huge investment for a two way winger who can put up 20 goals.

In comparison, Horvat was offered $41 million in total money coming off a 52 point season. Miller was offered $56 million coming off a 99 point season. Any GM with a functioning brain would have given Miller more money than Horvat. A lot more.  Is Miller not worth 28% more than Horvat when his point total is almost 100% greater?

The $5.125 million and $41 million total money was the starting point in negotiations. They would have went higher I’m sure. Problem is Horvat didn’t even want to counter. He simply wanted to ride out his deal, take advantage of Boudreau’s no defensive responsibilities system, get as many goals and points as possible playing with Miller who was feeding him all those passes, and then get some sucker like senile old man Lamoriello to give him his overpaid retirement contract.  Good for him. Now he’s throwing shade at Canucks fans even though he has $68 million in his pocket.

Good riddance Bowie…

Sshh you're contradicting the "Bo is perfect and Canucks fans are the reason the team was bad" narrative. Shut up with your dumbass statistics and rationality. What's more important is me letting everyone know I'm a superior fan to them and furiously defending a player who isn't on the team anymore.
