I looked up NJs draft history. They made playoffs once since 2012 and has drafted at top 10 six times through that time span, with 2 first overalls that now formed their current 1-2 punch down the middle.

 

They made a few big off season signings (Hamilton) and TDL acquisitions (Meier), but I don't think they've been giving away much draft capital - very different from how Canucks have operated in the same time frame. You can argue the difference is we have Demko and NJ doesn't have the legitimate no. 1 goalie, but their prospect pools are soooo much deeper than ours. They also don't have terrible contracts locked in either...
