size, defensive acumen, pk ability, heavier players were added.

Ideally, 2 more expensive wingers, maybe Myers and Rathbone are moved out too address a higher end RHD and righty 3/4 C

Kuzmenko Petey Beauvillier

Mikheyev Miller Boeser

Pearson* Blueger Garland

Podkolzin Aman Hoglander

Joshua Dries PDG

Studnicka etc

Hughes Cole

Soucy Hronek

Irwin Myers

Brisebois Juulsen

poolman*

Honestly not a terrible looking lineup on paper.

We said that last year too though.

Could you imagine we traded Garland, Myers and next year’s first for EK?

I can't decide if this is a good idea or a really bad idea. Pros and cons?

Pros

- Right-shot D partner for Hughes

- Major points production for them both, likely

- 101 points last season (1 point less than Pettersson)

- Would make the Canucks a contender

- Garland and Myers would be gone

Cons

- Trading another 1st

- Old (33)

- Last year an anomaly?

- Term on that contract (4 years)

- Cap hit  ($11.5)

- the four seasons before last, he only played 50+ games (injuries?)

- Is he a "ME" player?

We would need to get rid of Myers before something like that could happen.

Think we still have ~$2m. Though I'd happily dump (for a moderately reasonable cost) either/both Beau or Garland if it means we could add Suter and one of Fischer/Asplund.

Wouldn't work. Both guys need the puck on their stick to make plays. They going to cut it in half?

With us he got Hughes, Petey, Miller abd Kuz that will make his life easier and the sum of it all will be record breaking points for all the top players.

An easier life also means he can play longer.
As Hughes and Hronek munch up a lot of minutes EK can come in and have fun playing less minutes.

Hmm if PA can somehow get Suter to a 1-2 yr with reasonable cap hit I'd give him a A+ rating. I don't think we have much cap left though esp if Pearson is expected to come back.

Suter won't come here., even if pay him more than other teams...

He's made a lot of money in his career with the massive contract in MIN. He'll want to go to a Cup contender.

Alvin did great today..

No over payments. No long contracts.

Soucey deal is perfect at 3 years. I thought it would take 4 years but PA got it done at great price and term.

Good day for the Canucks!!!

We are at -$2.45 Million (currently over the cap). We are under if neither Poolman nor Pearson are able to start the season. That said we are only at a 21 man roster on the big club so I would guess that a trade of some kind has to be in the works. If the Myers to SJ rumours are true that would solve a lot of problems
