I can't decide if this is a good idea or a really bad idea. Pros and cons? Pros - Right-shot D partner for Hughes - Major points production for them both, likely - 101 points last season (1 point less than Pettersson) - Would make the Canucks a contender - Garland and Myers would be gone Cons - Trading another 1st - Old (33) - Last year an anomaly? - Term on that contract (4 years) - Cap hit ($11.5) - the four seasons before last, he only played 50+ games (injuries?) - Is he a "ME" player? Though I'd happily dump (for a moderately reasonable cost) either/both Beau or Garland if it means we could add Suter and one of Fischer/Asplund. KyGuy123
We definitely have a trade up our sleeve for a RHD or 3rd line Center

With us he got Hughes, Petey, Miller abd Kuz that will make his life easier and the sum of it all will be record breaking points for all the top players. An easier life also means he can play longer. As Hughes and Hronek munch up a lot of minutes EK can come in and have fun playing less minutes.

I don't think we have much cap left though esp if Pearson is expected to come back. Suter won't come here., even if pay him more than other teams... He's made a lot of money in his career with the massive contract in MIN. He'll want to go to a Cup contender.
cripplereh
Now we need a bid trade to bring in a solid RHD for QH.That or get rid of Myers which might take time till his signing bogus.
CanuckleHorse
If we could add this dude our players would have a body guard that could hold his own with any of the toughest guys in the league. Edited July 1, 2023 by CanuckleHorse

WHL rocks
Alvin did great today.. No over payments. No long contracts. Soucey deal is perfect at 3 years. I thought it would take 4 years but PA got it done at great price and term. Good day for the Canucks!!! 1

We are under if neither Poolman nor Pearson are able to start the season. That said we are only at a 21 man roster on the big club so I would guess that a trade of some kind has to be in the works. If the Myers to SJ rumours are true that would solve a lot of problems
Smashian Kassian
EK to Van is a bad idea. He's not replacing Quinn Hughes, his skillset will be wasted as he takes up a huge % of our cap. We just went through this with OEL, and he was more physical & a better defensive player (his first year). Steer clear of him. 1 2
BtueyCanuckFan
Love the signings. If we can fit Foote in also I think we would be set on Defence
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
I’d still like to see a RH’d faceoff man acquired. Do we have anyone in the system (under contact) other than Linus Karlsson? EDIT: I guess Studnicka? Anyone else?
