Borgen would have been the perfect partner for Hughes.  Solid RHD defensive Dman.  I'd go after him in 2 years...

Agree on Borgen. In two years, Willander should be making his NHL debut, with D-Petey not too far behind.  Nice to have some decent d prospects coming up for a change

I really hope DP won’t be his nickname.

Kid is a solid player far from craperolla too, we would kill for a rhd like Borgen now.

The guy is the ayatollah of craperolla. Krappen miss the playoffs this coming season.

You know a team is stacked when you're saying their bottom pairing RD would be a perfect fit on our top pairing.

The Kraken have another massive, physical defence. Larsson, Dumoulin, Oleksiak and even this kid is pretty big. Starting to see a common trend in the playoffs - the bigger the D, the better.

Also impressive to see a team with no one with a cap hit of 6M or higher. Of course that's partly due to the expansion draft and not picking any true star players, but the depth has really worked out well for them. Maybe other teams will consider following suite - forgo stars and just try to acquire an entire team of 2nd liners.

They burned a year off Matty Beniers with a few games, so he will be an RFA next summer. It won't be long before they have one player above 7 mil.

I would counter point that D-Petey is far closer to playing in the NHL than Willander. Like considerably closer.

Based on his showing at development camp?

Partially, he looked much more NHL ready in his time there. But more based on his performance is the top tier of sweden hockey in comparison to Willanders experience in only the juniors. D-Petey has already played against men, and will be gaining more experience again this year. Willander is looking at a likely 2 year stint in college, and they reassessing from there. I wouldn't be shocked to see D-Petey playing pro hockey in North America as soon as the 24-25 season, while Willander will still be in college.

Ah yes, that makes sense. Cheers
