AJ for your interest in hockey history, those time consuming threads were a lot of fun, and thanks for the effort and time you provided all of us those summers. Vintage for being a computer. And so many others. Even the "bad" ones. A guy/gal named the Gaurdian, who's devils advocate position around our re-tool might have been over the top in the way it was presented, and some others on this site today, keeping it real. Don't like to hear it but at least the site wasn't Vanilla. Some kids who made it fun posting 20 threads in a couple days. Nice to see those balls. HKSR. Recently BobLaw adding WAR cards ... Characters like Alflives. Too many to bring up, apologies for missing a bunch. What a wonderful colourful bunch of fans, thanks everyone, for sharing your ideas and thoughts and hockey memories. We are a community but, beyond that, we're a family. And we'll lose contact with many good people. I'm actually really disappointed as a fan and long time supporter of the team. We generate so much traffic and discussion here.....to pull the plug means all of that will disappear. For me, it's a be careful what you wish for deal....personally, I'll always be a fan of the team but this just is a dumb move in my opinion. To kill the buzz that happens here and drives some people toward the team. I've met so many friends here who I've continued outside the forum with. And was looking forward to more of that. My son met his wife here....her best friend met her husband here as well. We laugh that it's the CDC dating site. We have serious history here. I was really looking forward to sharing my birthday with y'all...the home opener. Now...? Love each and every one of you...even those who threw shade my way (I likely deserved at least some of it). I tried to just be "me"...to be real and honest. A homer, that's who I am. That part'll never change, even if I'm learning to accept other people's views and opinions as they are as valid as my own. I came on board with poetry...lol. Entering contests where I ran around the neighbourhood with a sign. Then was a raging Karen (hey, I had a lot going on in my life). I'm learning to tone it down (a bit)...but when it comes to my team, I do dig my heels in. I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to be a mod alongside my good friend, Chris (Lagerhog/Captain Bob) and really wore that badge with pride and honour. I tried to be fair and didn't always get everything right...I know that. But my heart was always in the right place...with my team. I've spent nearly 16 years here and, as someone who's had a bit of a tough life, this place brought me unbelievable comfort. I could rush home from work to see all of you here...that brightened some pretty dark days. I thank you all for everything....the great chats, the information and even the debates. For reaching out behind the scenes to support me (or tell me to go f myself - both were received openly and with a view to change my mind or at least offer reasoning...I tried to do that). I really enjoyed the laughs/silly stuff as much as anything else. You guys really brought it. And the music talk. And........everything. I'll miss those who don't make it over to the new "home"...I value you and hope you do make it there. Thank you, to the other mods who had my back and had to put up with my shenanigans...you rock. And stealth has been the most patient, helpful, kind, intelligent behind the scenes wizard we could ask for. sigh Now excuse me while I go cry my heart out for reals.
