"Family-wise it's a transition year with my daughter in school next year and I think it's something to be considered and everybody should consider this when they look at the new CBA, not just the way it affects the group but how it affects you individually."

Are you #$%@ing serious? You're worried about your daughter's education when your raking in over 4 million dollars a year? Wow.

WOOOOWWWWWWWWW.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Who cares? If that's what he wants to do, let him. It's not like it matters if he is in the NHL or not.

Cole has shown to be noticeably frustrated throughout the whole lockout. I doubt he retires, but props if he is true to his word. If not, then he's just another Drama queen.

That would be a shame if he did. In any work environment, you won't always be 100% happy with the situation but that doesn't mean you just walk away from it. This is his job, this is what he does, and this is what he is blessed to get paid a LOT of money to do.

You can probably guess what his vote was.

Does he really need an extra $400K per season when his contract is valued at $18 million over 4 years?

Sure, he can do whatever he wants. Just don't complain about the standing of your family and blame it on the CBA. What did the CBA do? Cut a few hundred thousand dollars from his contract? God forbid that he lose all that money from his multi-million dollar deal.

Let him retire. I'm a Montreal fan but I've been disgusted with Cole's behavior throughout the lockout.

He's been complaining throughout the lockout. This isn't anything new, it's tiring. No one should give a damn.

What does the new CBA have to do with his daughter's "education"? He signed a massive deal and is still going to make more money, in the next four years, than 12-15 average North Americans make in a lifetime. This guy's a selfish, spolied brat who's decided to take his ball and go home because he didn't get what he wanted.

"Even though I still make ridiculous amounts of money, chasing a piece of rubber around a sheet of ice, I'm going retire because my daughter is starting middle-school and I won't be able to buy her solid 24K school supplies with my mediocre multi-million dollar wage."

He's got a contract worth $18M and he's thinking about retiring because he doesn't like the CBA. Poor guy.

If he doesn't like the CBA Cole has the right to switch careers. If he chooses he could use his skills at another job like stocking grocery store shelves.

Instead of $4 mill per year he'll make around $25k but hey, what ever makes him happy right.

OMG SUNDIN.

The word fear is not in our dictionary, it is in the eyes of the enemy.

The objective of war is not to die for your country, it is to make the enemy die for theirs.

This really just sums up the world today.

There are kids who are literally starving to death as a speak, people of all ages making 10 cents an hour in sweat shops.....while this POS complains about not getting enough money or w.e other insignificant aspects of the CBA he has a problem with.

Greed and selfishness has no bounds.

Truly disgusting.

*yawn* didn't Bill Guerin say something like he wouldn't play in the NHL if they put in a cap as well? Aaaaaaand sure enough, he was out there playing for the Pens (and Stars I think) after the cap was put in.

Are u sure this is how it went down. he is thirty four years old so its possible that retirement is reasonable. I'm not sure if this is a 2 seperate ideas into once sentence trick.

Benning will be fired next year. Hope he enjoys screwing around for a few months. I just cant believe this. Another injured BC player. We just got rid of garrison. Seems like the canucks and linden just wanted any BC born player. Doesn't matter if hes good or not. We don't need another Linden to get us to game 7 of the Stanley cup and lose. We need someone to win us a cup.

5 million a year for Vrbata? 6 million for Miller? Kesler for Bonino and 24th instead of 10th pick or one of their top prospects? Garrison for scraps?

ive already lost faith in JB. Ive never EVER had this bad of a feeling about management.

idiot wishes the whole season was wiped out so he could lose out on over 2.5 million more of his salary. Good thing this guy has hockey skills he wouldn't make it out in the real world with his intelligence.

I think that Steve Yzerman would be a good fit for you.

Is Cole turning into the next "Dr. Recchi"?

First he tells Hamerlik to shut up about how they are losing money and now he is pretty much complaining about how he is going to lose money.

I wish I could be retarded and fail to plan for my future with an 18 mill bank account.

So instead of making 4.5m he may be faced with making 4m. I can see quitting over that. I can also picture the look on his face when his next potential employer says during the interview, "The starting wage is $12 per hour".
