Hi guys

I didn't get a chance to see any of the young stars games. (For the record I don't care if we lost all 3 games, it doesn't matter) And I'm not even sure whether or not Dane Fox was playing in it. But realistically do you think this guy can A) make the team and B) have any kind of an impact? Also, give me your unabashed opinion on where you think Horvat, Gaunce, Shinkaruk and Jensen should be for the start of the season. And if you like to add, how you think they're doing ie. have they improved since last year and so forth.

Given how the roster looks like it will be, Fox will most likely start in Utica. He has a nice shot, but there are a lot of aspects of his game that need work. Time in Utica will be great for him.

I'll save judgement for all of them until main camp, but if I was to go with my gut as of right now: Horvat will be back in juniors, and Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Fox, and Jensen will all start the season with the Utica Comets.

The prospects had a rough go at the tournament, but it'll be hard to judge them until main camp.

I would guess that Horvat will get a brief look with Vancouver this season for up to 9 games. Gaunce, Fox, and Shinkaruk will likely start in Utica. It will make for a more completive team there. I am still not convinced by Jensen. He has an upside but I think he needs more seasoning in the minors.

I think Fox has a good shot at making the Canucks at some point next season for at least a handful of games. He had a hockey fight in the tournament. I think he did well in his hockey fight.

Fox looked good at the tourney. he found open ice in the slot several times just like he did all year in the OHL. good to see him do that against teams comprised of very good to elite level prospects. I don't think any of our players blew the doors off by any means; and to that end it would be a bit of a reach to say any of them start in Vancouver. But, they all will be in main camp where the decisions are actually made so we'll see. I think in the end the big 4 forward prospects who will be participating in camp (Horvat, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Jensen) will make roster decisions tough but to me, will all be going to Utica. (except for Horvat obviously, he's the toughest to forecast but I'm leaning towards the conservative outcome of him playing his final year of junior back in London.)

Okay first of all, guys, he scored 64 goals in OHL , it doesnt always mean that he'll score 30+ in NHL or AHL, because he said he models his game after Dave Bolland, and dave bolland scored more points than him when bolland was in london knight, Second, hes a great team first player. he has a good shot, and can make our team as a 4th liner replacing sestito because we have dorsett. but yeah.

To my observation Fox is a crafty, smart and competitive hockey player. I believe he will play in the NHL.

His ceiling might be like a similar guy in Dino Cicarelli?

Speed and athleticism, perhaps its just fitness (?) and average size appear to be an Achilles heal standing between him and a more prominent expectation. But that was true for Dino as well. Who had the shot, the game smarts and feist abd was willing to mix it up in front of the net to make up for any perceived shortfalls in his game.

But that's the ceiling.

The first step is getting up to a pro level of work ethic. As suggested, there is enough to his game he can be a 2knd or 3rd liner in the NHL if he puts the work in. Perhaps a PP and late game "need a goal" specialist for offensive situations as well considering his knack for scoring. The work ethic will ultimately determine his fate IMO.

Horvat and Fox will be good once they play on the same line. Similar mentality when it comes to movement on the ice.

Really?? Never thought of that but your kinda right lol. I like Fox and think if he keeps to progresing like this he will be ready for 2015-16. Kid is a charm and really think could be MGs big find for us
