Alright, I am going way out on a limb... but I am also confident I am right.

Bo Horvat is going to be the Canucks next Captain after Henrik.

This kid has all the qualities that define a leader...

-He is modest

-He never panics or loses his composure

-He is a teamplayer

-He is very popular with his team-mates

-He gets the team going with his offensive and drive

-He is solid defensively

I used to think a good nickname for his would be "The Rock"... but someone else on the board came up with a better one. The way he plays, the way he goes to the net:

Bo "The Bull" Horvat

Let's let him finish his rookie season before we anoint him the second coming of Linden. too high expectations can be a bad thing. Let the kid develop on his own rate.

Edit: We don't want to be the oilers and expect every kid to be the saviour. Let his game develop. He will have his growing pains.

way too soon to know

we can discuss this in 3 years

let's have a few youngsters on the club first and playing well

virtanen could be a fine captain perhaps

we have not seen the other young guys yet

no one else to assess yet

edler could still mature into captain material

if he ends up developing into a real #1 defenceman

That's what I predicted about Hodgson too during his second year... (Who exhibited all these qualities before the whole dad debacle).

We'll see.

Hodgeson is not even close to Bo...

Bo is faster, bigger, and much better defensively... plus he is not the kind of guy to start whining about where he plays.

Did you not watch the interview with his Dad after the Chicago game??? Neither of them mentioned a thing about Bo's game, they were too busy complimenting Kassian and the Sedins... like father like son... this kid does not try to blow his own horn, he lets his actions on ice do the talking

hodgson was identified by canuck brass a future potential captain material

they certainly misjudged on that

time will tell

Okay that's not really going out on a limb. Odds are Sedins retire in four years.

We going to give the C to ...

A boom or bust in Shinkaruk? No

A complete hot head in Virtanen? No

A two way centre like McCann? Maybe, if he pans out.

We literally have no better current prospect to hand it to.
