Utica win game 6 ...Now in AHL FINAL

Recommended Posts

Canucks farm team win game 6 of semi finals 2-0 and now move onto

AHL finals... Jacob Markstrom coming up big again in the win saving all 21 shots...

We have some good prospect ready to move up to the big club..

Feel Markstrom is ready for backup duty next year maybe playing 20-25 games,

Sven Baertschi is ready for top 6 and he has great speed and great scoring touch...

Brendan Gaunce has good size and has had a great playoff, Grenier has size 6'4" and has also

had a great regular season and playoff...Corrado, Glendening, and big 6'4' tough Pedan should

all be getting close for NHL duty...

I Think Virtanen,Shinkaruk, Cassels, McCann should be ready for 2016 -2017...

Excited for the young farm team to win the cup....

all good.. but just because they are winning at the ahl level doesn't translate to winning at the nhl... im very impressed with what they have done.... just keep things in perspective. .... congrats utica

You're quite wrong about that, according to Jim Benning. His entire philosophy is built around the importance of creating a winning culture to build to greater success. It doesn't guarantee success, but so much is made of experience in the playoffs. Now guys like Virtanen, Shink, Gaunce, Markstrom, Corrado, etc. will have that playoff mentality.

2012-13 Champs: Grand Rapid Griffins: Detroit's development of talent in the AHL before stepping into the NHL is legendary

2011-12 Champs: Norfolk Admirals. Many of these players are now in the SCF with TB

2010-11 Champs: Binghamton Sens: Lehner, Greening, Wiercoch, Borowiecki, Butler, Condra, Cowen.....half of the Sens' roster player on this team.

That Calder Cup team of Sens prospects was truly impressive. IMHO their young talent is one of the best in the NHL. Canucks as a org should be very proud of the performance of the d-men who were brought up during their injury stretch in the spring. Their

performance had a lot to do with the similarity of play between Utica and Canucks. It has to really benefit young players to have similar systems.
