I don't think anyone expected him to slot in and post a shutout. It's clear after this experiment that he's not NHL ready. Just an unlucky series of events puts him in goal vs a top team with no option to pull him. Are people seriously criticizing the guy? Even Carey price got bombed 7-0 in his first game. But easy to say now, if Dipietro has a Hart like performance he would be lauded the next great one on here. So it is what it is at this point. Ok Carter Hart is 20 i am not saying we should blame it entirely on Dipietro, this is on management and philly for taking McKenna off waivers but is it too too much to ask for him to just make “one” save?
