So what exactly does this do for the OP?  Most people who volunteer their time don’t really need their ego stroked.

it signals appreciation and acknowledgement for the consistent effort to keep this thread going for the entire season

as a child i was taught to say thanks to people

i find that is becoming rarer in our modern society

and particularly online

so i simply provide a reminder for those who have forgotten to do this

and many appear to respond positively to that reminder

 

feel free to ignore me if you find my social norms irritate you

i have posted reminders fairly regularly throughout the season in relation to this thread

and so far only you and Guardian have found a need to raise issue with this

good on you both

but i think you are out of step with the majority on these boards
