I’m talking about his time in the KHL.

Oh my mistake.

It is tough for young players to break into that league due to bias more than anything else. I don't think Dorofeyev received that much ice time this year either and Denisenko played exclusively in the MHL in his draft year. Kravtsov made some noise, especially in the KHL playoffs.

Pavel Bure about Podkolzin and Vancouver, posted on June 23rd:

What is the most difficult for the Podkolzin's adaptation in Vancouver? During the remaining two years in the KHL, he needs to learn how to play against men. After all he is still junior, he is about to make that next step into the big-time hockey. And obviously this would be useful to speak English.

Vancouver really holds a special place in my heart. Not just because my jersey was retired there. This is my first NHL team, I spent quite some time there, I have very good memories about the players, the city, fans. I still communicate with my former Canucks teammates.  I have excellent relationship with the club owner Francesco Aquilini, we often meet each other, discuss something. Sometimes he visits me in Moscow. Canucks is an excellent organization and I would like to congratulate Podkolzin with this as well. He is going to join very good team.

Maybe we can bring Bure back to the organization in some capacity?  Could help with recruitment of Russian players and help some with the transition.

Hire him as a shootout specialist.

Wow,

This is going to help Podz adjust to NA.  As things go forward, we are going to get very excited about his impact.

This guy might have been the best defensive player in the entire draft vs all players.

Thinking about what Ep40 and or Bo is going to do with all the turnovers Podz creates...

This team is going to be a fast transition (hughes and OJ) and pure counterattack machine.  Our PP could become the best in club history and our PK.

Podz and Bo, think Kesler and Burrows in their prime, but better.  Add in a Miller, Rousell, Pearson or Virtannen and that line is going to suck playing against.

Podz and Ep40.  Brock too.  Being a defender trying to move the puck out against Podz and Ep40 is going make defenders dread the 'Highlight of the night.  Fill in the blank " coughed up the puck attempting to break out vs Podz, Podz flipped the puck to Ep40, who completely undressed the other defender feeding the puck to Boeser who added yet another tally!  Watch the goalie break his third stick of the night!"

Back breakers, the type of players that take over series and the type of goals that kill teams souls.

Love your enthusiasm East-West but you best take a Valium before you give yourself a heart attackB)

Sounds like he really wants to have a countryman in VAN once he comes over:

Zaitzev is available.  TO really wants the Marner saga to be over.

Saunter for Zaitsev. As an example.

TO needs cheap players that can take NHL minutes.  They need Cap space.

We got kicked in the balls yesterday by Luongo.  A trade back to Vancouver with him being placed on the LTIR and never having to suit up was easy to facilitate.

He still retires but doesn't screw over the club that in large part helped him achieve his hall of fame numbers.

Don't think we can afford the top shelf FA signing with that extra cap hit.  This year, sure but the last year is going to be hard and if this forces Vancouver to loss one of its core pieces....

Plus Zaitzev is on a long deal and is a RHD with some offence.

Keep Tanev and Schenn.  A right side of Tanev, Zaitzev, Stecher and Schenn is still better than Tanev, Guddy, Stecher and Pouliot.

Then we get a Russian which should help Podz and get Trymakin back.

Next season a Trymakin Zaitzev pairing as a third paring option isn't all that bad.

Hopefully this team has learned something about the culture shock that Russian players can feel moving to NA, especially Vancouver.

Valium...

420 in the morning with a good cuppa.  Best way to start a set if days off after my last night shift.

I call.it the magic 8 ball, all organic and very relaxing.

Agreed that a few Russions together would be a good idea and Zaitsev is likely a good D option at his contract.  Thinking the same for Joulevi with Rislolainen and Puljujarji.

I think we have the Russian Horvat.  We may have plucked the most valuable player from the draft.  We'll see in a couple of years.

What's russian for "Bull"?

I know we all hate Mark Messier, but I see a young Messier in Podkolzin.  Big, fast, skilled, high compete, straight line player who has a very nasty (dirty could be said) streak.

Give him Tryamkin's number.

I bet Paterson is hoping this tweet would create some controversy if we don't add more Russians then he will stay in the KHL or something.

Jeebus....that is a full on Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) look.  Looks tough as nails lol.  Can't wait till we have a real pain in the arse with size on this team. I know we have Roussel but this kid is big haha.
