I would actually like to see a 3rd line with Jake, Motte & Gaudette. Its not incredibly high in puck skills. Would be about puck pressure, not puck possession! Motte creates turnovers. Jake picks them off? And Gawd puts them in! Yeah we needed Jake's speed and physicality. Sutter was slow and lackluster. Stick Jake on line 3 and put Ferland with Beags and Motter. 1 2

It's up to Marky and the top 9 forwards to minimize the damage and find ways to get the puck past Dubnyk. Our D will have to work hard on the boards.. Wild are very physical and relentless on the boards in the O zone.. Hughes and Stecher will have hard time due to their small size.. they'll need busy sticks and positionally sound play to be successful.

Gawdzukes
People got to remember it's an exhibition game. It really doesn't tell you much as a fan. For all we know all the teams had a mandate to play hard but not get hurt. Sunday will be another animal for sure. Guys are amped up and we’re ready. We’re going to be ready to go for Sunday." - Horvat Awesome. Honestly, the overall play was great! Just need to finish and clean up a few turnovers. (Easy to say, I know, but at least we don’t face Hellebuyck) 1 5

I am however glad that the Nucks aren't playing the Jets in their series. Bring on the Wild and their mediocre goalies. Hellebyuck played lights out tonight. That EP onetimer on the PP was heading top corner and would be a goal 8/10 times. He was the difference tonight. I'm happy with the chances we got. We would normally bury more of those 1

-Vintage Canuck-
“I liked a lot of our game, really liked our start, felt like we played that fast and aggressive game we want to play. We got away from it for 8 minutes in the 2nd period; then had a pretty good push in the 3rd. I felt like it was pretty good for an exhibition game.” - Green 1

Set the standard on playing with small D. Have proved the busy sticks, and position play? More importantly, getting, moving & controlling the puck is more useful than banging someone with it! guntrix
Hellebuyck was great. Our top two lines tried to be too fancy at times. This team is ready to move on from Sutter. Edited July 30, 2020 by guntrix

HockeyHarry
Good seeing OJ48...looked good, it Preseason warnup game tho, but definitely I see him on the future blue line next season. Also Sutter I’m sure was taking this as a preseason don’t get injured game....I hope he turns up next game. On to Sunday. That and defensive pinches where our forwards have to be aware and rotate up to cover the point.

He supposedly provides veteran leadership, is great defensively and is a must have on the PK. I think Jake is a better penalty killer than Sutter. Not sure how Sutter got this reputation of some wonder kid on the penalty kill who can't be taken out of the lineup. Free Jake... 1 2
