  1. Get him signed for <7.5 M ideally, his goals and point totals put him near 7M imo but his captaincy and faceoff and 200 ft game for us gets him more. Play Mikheyev with him this year along side someone like Kuzmenko or someone speedy and they shall score and shut it down nicely
  2. Or we have to figure a way out so our 2nd unit wins a faceoff that isnt dickinson or lazar
  3. I agree OEL is a better fit and good passer. Our issue imo is a lack of centre on the 2nd unit. Between Miller and Horvat they need to be split up. Miller plays the key Boeser and Petey on the sides OEL + Garland Horvat Kuzmenko Podkolzin Mikheyev or Pearson Hughes
  4. Canucks currently have 10 players who IMO will want top 6 minutes, leaving the likes of Garland, Hoglander, Podkolzin on the outside looking in with the new additions of Kuzmenko and Mikheyev. With nothing being a guaranteed thing, the Canucks can look into potentially moving a player like Hoglander or Garland imo out for some depth on their D. The WPG have 9 forwards currently signed, with the potential of PLD possibly parting ways in the near future. However they do have some Dmen we could be interested in. Canucks trade Myers, Garland, Rathbone for WPG: Neal Pionk, Logan Stanley, prospect Elias Salomonsson This gives them a prospect in Rathbone who could give them a potential offensive addition on their Left side with a top 6 winger in Garland, aswell as Myers. Canucks add Poink who can replace Myers on the RD or potentially pair w/ Hughes. We add Stanley to our bottom pairing giving some us added size and hits. We as a team save 4 Million dollars this year while gaining a swedish prospect in Salomonsson and improve our Defence going into next year
  5. Issue is where does his last 3 years leave him vs his whole career
  6. Colorado canucks game i think 3 years ago, Petey and Brock sedin goal, tie the game going into OT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYs3j6Hsuy4&ab_channel=NHL
  7. Stick to Pulock trades? Only down side is he has had injuries this past few seasons , would he be an upgrade on Myers
  8. At the draft day I heard this was the possible trade: Van Receives: Beauvillier, Dobson, 13th OA pick NYI Receives: Miller, Myers Personally I don't see NYI taking this deal, and we obtain Dobson a player who has the same offensive profile as Hughes with more hits and taller presence. Beauvillier is slightly over payed and would have made Pearson expandable or we don't end up signing Mikheyav as a result. Would you do the following trade as NYI has 12 M in space going into next year Trade 1: Van Receives Walhstrom, Pulock and a 2nd rd pick (conditional 1st if Miller resigns) Walhstrom gives us a bigger RW option in the absence of Miller NYI receives: Rathbone, Miller, Myers Myers gives them a RD to replace Pulock, Rathbone who won't get the offensive time on this team and a cheap Miller allowing them to go after another player in his pay range to help them get into the playoffs. --- Trade 2 : Van Receives Walhstrom, Dobson and a 2nd rd pick. Dobson allows us a D tandem that has Hughes- Dobson OEL- Schenn as a top 4 NYI receives: Rathbone, Hoglander Miller, Myers ----
  9. Is Noah Dobson from NYI untouchable

I mean, if Wayne Gretzky got traded, is there really a true untouchable? I believe there are varying degrees of untouchableness. I personally think Dobson's not at a level of a Quinn Hughes untouchableness, but I may be wrong. You'll need to ask the Lou.

      Rather have Pulock.

      He's a Unicorn.

  10. He hasn't scored a lacrosse goal yet thats why All jokes aside he isn't getting the top 6 minutes he needs and is underplayed in certain moments. I'd trust him in OT with the right players beside him
  11. Pearson (20) - Miller (30) - Boeser (30)

    Mikheyav (25) - Petey (30)- Garland (25)

    Podkolzin (20) - Horvat (30)- Kuzmenko (20)

    Hoglander (15) - Lazar (10)- Dickinson (10)

    Forward group: 255 goals ?

    1. PunjabiCanucks

      PunjabiCanucks

Defensive group add 20-25, make us top 10 in goals for as a team

    2. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Sadly doesnt work that way. You are counting 9 20 goal scorers; everyone has a good year scenario. Not even Avs or Florida had close to 9 20 goal scorers last season.

    3. Devron

      Devron

Still a pretty realistic number. A couple players could get close to 40 for example

  12. Overall I give us a B? Added forward depth, and a 20G scorer (possibly overpaid but tbd). Defence didnt make any moves or trades.
  13. Theodore for Rathbone and Hoglander save em a few mill to be nice
  14. Dont blame her one bit. As a HCP everyone is burnt out and feels under appreciated.
  15. Our Goals Against as a whole were not bad. We were one of the best 5 v 5 teams, if it wasn't for our PK being trash we could have been top 5 in Goals Against last year. If im Bruce use OEL and Hughes interchangeably between PP1 and PP2 depending on how it looks each game. Its harder to kill against us when you have Petey ripping 100 mph shots , Boeser on the left and OEL at the quarterback shooting. Heck I would consider having Miller in the key with Pearson. Horvat Garland Kuzmenko Podkolzin and Hoglander can play PP2 with OEL, Hughes. Give Rathbone time too if someone else is out. We have options just have to deploy it well.
  16. Assuming we roll 3 lines Pearson (20) Miller (30) Boeser (30) Podkolzin (20) Petey (30) Kuzmenko (20) Hoglander (20) Horvat (30) Garland (20) 4th line (15 goals) Forward Group GF: 245 GOALS Hughes - Schenn OEL - Myers Rathbone - Dermott --- Our top 9 isnt bad tbh, ofc it would be sweet if Kuzmenko Pod Hog and Pearson break out Our biggest problem is Hughes isnt a true PP1 Quarterback, OEL is and has a more lethal shot. OEL can't walk the line as nice nor gain zone entry as well as Hughes . Myers is overpaid, aswell as OEL. Schenn isnt a true top pairing dman but is forced to play it. Ideally Hughes - An actual #1RD who can score 30 points but shutdown. OEL- Schenn Bye bye Myers and a better bottom pairing that doesnt have players like Dermott or Poolman getting paid too much --- Bubble Demko and our top 9 can win us a few series, its our defence that will prevent us from winning a cup
  17. Wish the Canucks could get a pure goal scorer .

We have no one in our franchise that has 400+ ...

Daniel Sedin sits outside of the top 100 Goals scorers.

    Give us a Bure :frantic:

Naslund could have hit 400 in an era outside of the dead puck era. We do lack that current sniper now. A few years ago, I had hoped Boeser could be that guy, but now I'm not sure if he'll be more than a 30-35 goal guy.

    2. PunjabiCanucks

      PunjabiCanucks

Agreed- Boeser may be a consistent 30 g guy if healthy but that wont last another 12 years.

Imagine having a person who could have score .5+ goals/ game over their career here

  18. I would rather Miller (50% retained), Rathbone, and a pick Roy and Theodore.
  19. Do we have one of the best top 9s in the Pacific , assuming we can keep Boeser and Miller...

If we can roll 3 lines

    Kuzmenko Petey Podkolzin

    Pearson Miller Boeser

    Hoglander Horvat Garland

@-AJ- but do we need "top end" talent to beat EDM or Cowgary in 7 games? I don't think so, we've seen how McBaby can be handled by good defensive players, and lil Jonny is a playoff no-show most of the time.

LA probably takes EDM out in the 1st round if Doughy is healthy.

    3. -AJ-

      -AJ-

@JM_ You definitely need depth, which has sometimes been the problem of those teams, but I think if I were to pinpoint a reason why our forward group isn't elite, it's the lack of top end talent, though Miller did push into that territory this year. To be one of the best forward groups, you need both depth and top end talent.

I do think Petey has that potential to be a top 5 point producer at some point, if he can put together a bit more consistency. Miller top 15 for a few more years. Bo is solid.

I'd really like to see some bigger bodies that can help these guys grind out more wins.

  20. Trade Miller for assets, replace him by UFA signing Forsberg or Kadri or E. Kane (to proper deals)

Move Myers out- get a Hughes a Toews like partner, Schenn plays/ w OEL

What I don't understand is why would JR not mention JT Miller as a core player in addition to Quinn, Demko, Petey and Bo? Is it the age?
