@canuck2xtreme are the matchups not set on the point totals from round one ?
Which I was under the impression would be different matchups then posted here. Thanks
We follow the bracket system as the NHL does. @Relyt Krets has them set up correctly.

Yup, and I am cranky today: bad combo. Sorry C2X, I know you don't deserve to be bitched at. I am sure I will feel better tomorrow, about 7:54am.
All good my friend. I feel your pain, I don't disagree that the dragged out style these types of things tend to be really sucks the fun out of it. But given the short time frame to get it together and the fact that many may have already had plans, there weren't a whole lot of options. Trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Really makes me appreciate our entry draft format. Can't wait for that one. June 24th @ 1:00pm!

THis is the part where I legit do not understand how putting four guys into one day was supposed to solve anything? I am going to assume gypper won't pick and so May 1st at about 9am I am on the clock. I have appointments all day and likely will be making my pick very late at night tomorrow, pushing Ottawa's pick to May 2nd most likely.
Then all the four May 1st people will be 'on the clock but with 24 hours each' to make their picks starting mid day May 2nd?
Am I the only one that thinks this is Raytarded?
anywho...until tomorrow. Cheers all.
Because if it was still 2 GMs per day and then went at the clip we did to start the round, we'd be waiting until May 4th. It's an imperfect solution, but if I cut time ahead of others and they've seen the guideline and go into it assuming they have until that day, that's a whole different uproar.
Or, we could just be patient.
Is it frustrating? Yeah sure, I get that. But these are free players, and at this point, these aren't game changers.
It's April 30th. We don't even know the entry draft order yet. We've got time.

Maple Leafs will most likely be willing to trade our next Dispersal pick for a 2023 4th
Is there anything left worth a 2023 4th? I dunno...

A note relevant to dispersal process!!!
Someone asked me via Discord about Taylor Hall's NMC. As noted in the contract details popup on the Rosters page, his NMC notes indicate that the NMC expired at the end of 2021-22. So he no longer holds a NMC. I have edited the Dispersal Draft page to reflect this.

Hey, I am just asking, but don't the 2022-2023 contracts run until June 30th, 2023, so everybody's cap is what it was as of the last day of the regular season. UFA and RFA don't actually expire until then.....so adding big contracts must still be under the $82,500,000 cap that was this last year.
For the playoff rosters that is an entirely different thing, and is not influenced by signings
Is any one over by adding extra drafted players, because they should not be, unless I am wrong??????????????
Just saying!
My reference would be that a player that is a UFA can be traded 1 day before Free Agency to another team so that that team gets to talk to him before free agency............
Correct, contracts run until June 30th. But having to be cap compliant ended after the regular season, and the 10% rule does not kick in until July 1st. So there is a window between the end of the regular season and July 1st where teams could be significantly over. That usually results from cap retention ending on a certain contract, or by signing star players to contract extensions etc., and by definition, those extensions would not kick in until July 1st as well.
A pending UFA can still be traded so the acquiring team can negotiate early, as you noted.
The team charts currently reflect cap space as of July 1st, the start of free agency, so that teams have time to prepare and plan going into free agency and next season.

Isn't only 10% over during the summer? July 1st to Sept.1 st?
What do I know?
Yes you are correct. Some teams have some work to do before July 1st...

Closing in on the end of the 1st round.
Once the 1st round is complete, the 2nd round will begin immediately. Schedule will be posted as soon as possible.
The 2nd Round rules will be almost the same as the first round, but will list 4 GMs per day rather than 2, and will institute a 48 hour maximum time limit. So if we are 3 days ahead and someone stalls it out, we don't have to wait 3 and a half days to move on.
