viking mama
Oh please. It is the coaches job to COACH. He did nothing. Didn't pull Lack and now his confidence is destroyed. Didn't bother to call a timeout til 1 minute to go. What a useless excuse for a coach. This. And - the other bench coaches are next to useless - too. When a goalie has lost his groove...you put in the back-up to share the pain...or to help the line-up infront of him to switch gears! I SAW how Torts played Kesler last game, & this melt-down is... in part....on the erratic bench-coaching. The whole team played exactly like Higgins.... in that 3rd period of the Calgary game - like penalty magnets! This IS on how Tortorella has been deploying his players within his system. Atrocious decisions by the coach have caused a lack of respect for this coaching staff. Their core-busting, body-breaking, psyche-zapping, decisions have had a massacring-effect on the continuity & confidence of this line-up ...& have lead to this epic fail. There is NO more will to play for this man...& that is clear! I do not want this guy or his assistants...to retain their jobs after this season. Flush the whole lot....or bring in a viable replacement coach to wait in the wings...& retain only Gulutzan for his knowledge of the Western Conference teams that they are battling for a play-off spot. Tortorella has NO more connectivity with this group.... & especially NOT the leadership core. The Keenan fiasco of the '90's is repeating itself all over again. I can only imagine that whatever the coach is SAYING in that room....has a total lack of accountability or apologies for HIS part in this calamity....& that is just making things worse! BTW - Luongo's past tweets were fine. He brought levity to the situation ....and was supporting his former protege. You call a time-out or do a goalie-pull.... to re-set your team, spare an ugly stat-hit to the starter...and to let the back-up goalie share in the pain. I think it rattled Lack to have Lu chastized as he was. Umbilical cord cut & severed for good. Then - there is Torts & the organization doin' nothin' to recognize that. Torts is little better than AV in his decision-making on these points. Tsk Tsk...an epic fail across the board! I hope that MG had the fore-sight to orchestrate the equivalent of a pre-nup....between the team & Torts.
ShakyWalton
So they played for him in the first and quit in the third to prove a point? This team plays a solid 60 minutes, they would have won this game. so please explain to me,,what happened then...I wouldnt doubt they quit in the 3rd.. canuck2288
We lost AV because Gillis needed someone to throw under the bus for his mismanagement. Now people are doing exactly what he wants, blaming Torts. The problem is Gillis people. Having him to the rebuild is equal to allowing an arsonist to rebuild the house he destroyed
tocnhockey
Dear dragonfruits I find your attitude of thinking your better then everyone else because your an eternal Cheerleader to be far more annoying then objective fans venting... judging by the up votes, I don't think im alone. people have different ways of being fans, and responding to crap. please stop crying and criticizing anyone who doesn't share your attitude. thank you. pot meet kettle
Canuck or Die
I knew the problem wasnt AV... Torts has lost the room hes done. Dead man walking. Gillis should be gone, but if he is Aquilinis puppet he will probably stay. I hope we dont win another game this season. It will give us a good pick in a weak draft and we can sell some of our players like Kesler who doesnt want to be here, and maybe more, the way the seasons going, for young guys under 25. I dont have a lot of faith Gillis can make fair deals anymore though. Other gms dont seem to respect him much. Tank this year and next season and get a top 5 pick hopefully Mcdavid. The problem isn't Torts, either. They were declining under AV, too. So how does Torts get all the blame?
RU SERIOUS
Get used to this 1970's style of Canucks team because we're stuck with 2/3 of the team for the next 4-5 years. It will take the next GM 6-8 years t rebuild.
SNACanuck
Next game against Winnipeg: Canucks lead 60-0 heading into the final minute of play. The Jets miraculously score 60 goals to tie the game and then win the game 1 second into overtime by shooting the puck off the stanchion and through Eddie Lack's five hole. That's probably the only way it could get worse. You called it bro, lol... and Torts keeps lack in the entire time!!!
nuck nit
Canucks (23rd) lost to the Islanders (26th).Not surprising any longer. They lost with some fashion but the Islanders performed admirably. Games and runs and seasons are all about momentum and unless the Nucks can find theirs this season is a write off. Let's hope Detroit empties the cupboard for Kesler. Post about hockey or don't post at all. fine like i said in my previous post i am done with the other posters being supposedly being done on to the topic at hand this game comes down to the veterans once again being outplayed by rookies and young players and you would think this would inspire them to play better themselves but seems to be having the exact opposite effect on the team

The Magician
Funniest thing was that there were about 200 people in the GDT going into the 3rd at 3-0. By the end there were about 850 people LOL.

aqua59
Torts should be canned. This team is useless. And broken. And disgusting. not until Gillis get back from the meeting in Florida. But I bet some ones gonna get canned soon.
