Ghostsof1915
$7.5 x 5 years = $37.5 Million. Why teams offer contracts north of 5 years makes no sense to me. If he gets injured and his performance drops significantly thats 2 years less you have burn.
Warhippy
If the Oilers sheet him I let him walk and know I am getting at least 3 years worth of top picks minimum
PhillipBlunt
While it's ridiculous that anyone should make this kind of money hitting rubber with a stick, Subban deserves this. He is one of the most dynamic defensemen in the league, and is leaving some on the table. Wish the Canucks were signing him.
sharnhayre
7 years at $45M... get it done! Good deal for the Canadiens,.
VegasCanuck
Sign that now before someone offer sheets him at 8 or 9 million per
canucks155
He should make in between $7-7.5m a year. He is smart to have taken the bridge contract as he cashes in big time. The only reason he should be getting home $7.5m, is because the cap is going up and he's their 2nd best player behind Price. At around this much, he's right where other offensive down are (Letang, Karlsson, etc). AAll I'll say is, he shouldn't be making more than Suter or Weber. Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/521759 7 x $7 mill seems like what PK will get/should imo. Habs rolled the dice giving him the bridge contract and it's fired back at them. Could've signed PK for 5-6 years for $5.5-6.5 mill. Now the price and length has gone up too. What the? Is your math messed up or something? He's asking for around $6.5 mil per year right now! Length is fine, price is great!
TheRussianRocket.
What the? Is your math messed up or something? He's asking for around $6.5 mil per year right now! Length is fine, price is great! It says he wants an excess of 7 years, $45 mill so I'm assuming 7 x $7 would be a fit..
Mr.53
Until you go north of 8 million, I say take the deal montreal
TheXFactor
$7 mil sounds good. IMO Subban and Doughty are not only amazing, but some of the most entertaining Dmen to watch.
wtpasc
PK remains one of my absolute favorite players in the game. I'd pay whatever it takes to keep PK on my team. The guy is a stud of a player and has shown that the "bad locker room guy" label he wore for a while was overblown.
apollo
Hope Montreal passes on him. We could use him here!
Coconuts
7x7 or 7.5x5? Anything under 8 is likely a good deal for the Habs.
Go Faulk Yourself
Wow, I'm surprised after he was pushed into signing that bridge contract after winning the Norris that he didn't ask for the world from MTL. This is a very good deal for MTL and I don't know why they wouldn't take it.
Bissurnette
Anything less than 7.5 shmill sounds more than fair to me. This guy is already a superstar and his defensive game could still get better. MTL should sign him through his prime years
-Vintage Canuck-
A couple weeks ago Subban’s camp asked for over $8 million a season. https://twitter.com/JasonGregor/status/479026848441958400
