oldnews
Considering all the interference the Leafs ran on our Luongo sales job, I applaud it, and hope for more. Heck, I'll even chip in... ...There are rumours that Erik Karlsson is sick of losing, and has demanded a trade to a more successful team... ...Despite their overwhelming success this season, inside sources have revealed a rift between Shea Weber and Predators' management... Cheers.
TOMapleLaughs
You realize that a no movement clause only means that he can't be sent to the minors right? It also means he cannot be traded or waived. Typically only the top signed players get NMC's. If a player has a no-movement clause, the player cannot be traded, waived, or sent down to the minors without that player's approval. He can be bought out however. And he can waive his NMC. But why would he? Sadly, every aging player in the league with an NMC will be haunted by trade discussions up until their retirement, because they're apparently worth more traded, etc. This includes the Sedins. It's pretty pathetic to bring up the discussion if you ask me, and if they are approached by the team, then it's pretty disrespectful to the player, who have well-deserved the contract they're currently on. I think the Bruins and Canucks signed these players with the full intent of retaining them for the duration of the contract. Hence, the NMC's. They're not cap-circumventing deals at all. Canuck Surfer
Chara can get the Bruins to the 2knd round this year and prob next. That's worth $20 odd mill in the coffers. There are owners who have an influence in these things. And they WILL make the play-off's this year. Guys speculating he will be traded this year should head down to East side Main street. Next year, at the deadline, if the wheels fall of and they are off the pace they will still get the same return. Could happen then, but a lot will happen between now and then! HC20.0
This is just running interference in the Leafs' Phaneuf sales job. Chara ain't going anywhere. What goes around, comes around for the Leafs. Karma for tampering.
dwainbro
If true. It's time to fire Willie. Absolute garbage to bench the young player who has better advanced stats than over 3/4 of the lineup. You're in a playoff push Willie, in case you didn't realize. I've seen enough of this coach to realize he is a total rookie and has no idea what he's doing. I'm sure your years of coaching the Kindergarten Hockey League really pushed you over the edge with that rookie Willie.
Guest Dasein
More like (that's like three 1st pairings btw) Chara - Myers (BIGGEST. PAIRING. EVER!!!! that's 13' of defenseman ) That is the tallest, but definitely not the biggest. The original pairing of Chara-Byfuglien easily takes the cake in that category. apollo
Not a chance. You dont remove a Norris winning defenseman who can be your tough guy, pp specialist etc... Unless you are smart and see the light at the end of the tunnel, like the sedins... Good one troll. Can I expect to see you in canucks talk anytime soon? Or only immediately after a loss? Brad Marchand
If true. It's time to fire Willie. Absolute garbage to bench the young player who has better advanced stats than over 3/4 of the lineup. You're in a playoff push Willie, in case you didn't realize. I've seen enough of this coach to realize he is a total rookie and has no idea what he's doing. How is this even related to the possibility of Chara getting traded? Only mention of Kassian was by some random poster in the thread. Yes, conveniently forget to mention Kassian's 37.6% Corsi for the month of February. Second-worst on the team, only ahead of Dorsett. Small sample size for a traditionally strong possession player, yes, but you were willing to use a similarly small sample size of games to rip Clendening's NHL Corsi percentages and AHL stats without adding any context to them, while also conveniently forgetting to mention anything about Forsling's possession rates, even if you couldn't find them. Sometimes I wonder whether you only see what you want to see. And no, I'm not justifying the idea of scratching Kassian.

Butters Stoch
Don't see this happening. Bruins are still a competitive team and Chara can still be an elite defenceman, they NEED him if they're hoping to win more cups any time soon. samurai
Spector is always and speculating and creating stories - he's an idiot and that's why he's in Edmonton. As for Chara the only way he will be traded is if he asks to be, which he won't. He'll retire as a Bruin.
Baer.
More Spector speculation. Man, this guy needs a hobby that isn't writing half-baked opinions on players who are going to be traded just because they are "aging".

tyhee
What's with these GMs holding on to aging assets? They should be moving them while they can get value for them. Haven't these GMs been on CDC lately? It's so easy that it's the go-to advice in every trade the vets/get younger/canucks wont win the Cup so just rebuild now thread. I know it seems strange to respond seriously to a joking post, but ... A few days ago I did some reading on the Bruins section in the HF boards. There were a lot of posts about the Bruins time having passed, that they weren't a cup contender, even a couple of people suggesting they tank but generally the discussion was what pieces to move to rebuild. I felt right at home.
