Valid. But I honestly don't think the best way to develop a young player is to pair them with 4th liners. If you really want to see what you've got you should see what they do when paired with some talent.

What talent? He's been on lines 2-4 I don't agree with automatically gifting him with the Sedin's.  So he shouldn't have been with the big club at all this season.

Also sorry for singling you out. So many excuses in this thread as to why virtanen has struggled. Kind of sick of them.

Sure sure, pick on the new guy who joined today with 10 posts... Haha just kidding.

Haha take it as a compliment.  I usually  just leave new members alone. Easy to tell because their posts are so bad. While I don't agree with your opinion on the matter, I didn't think you were a new member.

Also I gave you 2 up votes to make up for it haha.

Haha, I'll take it! Both the up votes and the compliment.

I don't wanna continue the Virt excuses, wrong thread for it really, but I feel that whatever he has done wrong this year I still think he was better off in the NHL than in Calgary. How he plays at the WJC is going to make JB decide what to do with him. In my opinion it shouldn't really have any affect, international hockey is a different game than the NHL much like Junior.

But if Virt is scratched by Canada than I feel he is going to get sent down. No excuses if he doesn't get at least a couple of goals with his combination of skill and size.

So even Sweden does not have enough support to be able to send a team without having to plaster a company logo on the jersey?  "Bauhaus" up where their names normally go. And another big on the lower front. I hope this never happens to a Canadian team. Don't tell me "its inevitable".  They already have ads on the boards, on the ice, they can even make virtual ads behind the goal. Then there is the radio and TV ads. Isn't that enough? Can we at least exempt the uniform from this kind of visual pollution? So that the country one plays for and the players name is clear?  Too many have drunken the koolaid and seem resigned that commercialism trumps everything, even proper respect for country and our unofficial national sport.

*rant off*

Ok so maybe I'm wrong with Virt. He certainly seems to be lighting it up in the game against Sweden.

Good on you for posting, now however I, being the voice of patience, will point out you may still be right (whatever it was you said).  It is early in the tourney and early in Jake's career. I do believe the kid will just get better and better. I'm liking this pick, a lot.

I just was unsure of jake getting good ice time to improve his confidence. That was my worry.
