JB resigns Hamhuis 3yrs/3.5per year as Hammer wishes to stay in Vancouver. trades Burrows for a 3rd rounder, Burrows was a warrior for this franchise but time has come for him to ride off into the sunset trades Miller for a 1st rounder, Markstom is ready and JB needs to avoid a goalie controversy so nip it in the butt and get a good asset out of it. Bartkowski and Weber gone, Vrbata gone nothing to show for it. lol Hansen packaged up with Miller. Rodin makes team. Kenins and Gaunce are our first callups. Forward lines starting to look balanced and will be rolled like W.D. likes. Sedin Sedin Eriksson- super strong line, both Danny and Eriksson will push 35-40 goals and Hank will be top three in assists. Baertschi Horvat Virtanen- this line does it all, plays big with an ability to pick some good numbers. McCann Sutter Rodin- very good third line Etem Granlund Vey- speedy, skilled and pesty I like the direction, just wish we could add size and snarl, maybe that will come from the backend in our two "Russian Bears". Burrows, people still need to consider contracts more than play. If it were summer and Burrows was a UFA, how many teams would sign him for a year at $4.5 cap hit? Probably no one, and that's his remaining contract, so why would they trade a 3rd to take it over? As far as the bottom pair D? People celebrated the exact same scenario when we signed Vrbata. Didn't take the masses long to turn on him did they? Now imagine that but at a seven million dollar cap hit. That would be an overpayment of biblical proportions and will never happen. Eriksson may be signed here(I hope not) but I can't see Benning offering anything over $5.5 per year. While he has immense talent as a goal scorer and play maker, he lacks physicality and grit. The Sedins need a player that creates that space for them. I can't see Eriksson doing so.
