-AJ-
If he has recurring injuries, this contract could go from iffy to brutal. Hopefully this is all there is for his shoulder.

I do today. #Canucks Edited March 14, 2018 by Mackcanuck

He's certainly a top 4 D-man who could play a lot of minutes and whose style of play is vital come playoffs. Whether he is or isn't ain't the problem. His inability to remain healthy is (particularly for a guy you want to play physical). Obviously not his fault (nobody wants to get injured); it's just extremely unfortunate (like the problem that plagued Salo). Bang Bang Boogie
Hope it won't be a nagging injury that will continue to bother him throughout his career, especially given his style of play. We still have yet to see what a fully healthy Gudbranson can do.
aGENT
Shame. He was playing the best he has as a Canuck the last 6'ish weeks. Well, this sure won't hurt the (not so stealth) tank Come 'home' Dahlin, join with your countrymen EP and JD and become this teams next SWE superstars! 1 1

The thing about finishing last is the worst we could pick would be fourth. We might no get Dhalin, but (considering the kids at the top of this draft) we are pretty much assured an impact player for our future core. Slipping out of the top five, and it's (again) a guessing game, and becomes hit and miss.

Except that doesn't guarantee us anything other than slightly higher odds of getting a top three pick...

TheHitman
Wow, guessing he wouldn't have passed another teams physical and that's why he wasn't traded. Looks like we're saddled with his contract for three more years now, damn. After the UFA period Benning needs to find a loophole and renegotiate Gudbranson's contract. Guarantees us one of Dahlin, Svech, Zadina or Boqvist. Yes please. 16 minutes ago, TheHitman said: Wow, guessing he wouldn't have passed another teams physical and that's why he wasn't traded. Cheers You are an interesting poster. You know hockey is a rough game and players get injured. You know that his shoulder was injured in November and he has played since - clearly not a career item and more like need for a labrum tear fix or similar. Happens ALL THE TIME in pro sports. Many rarely go through a season without an injury. He is a nice Dman to have on your team and the price is decent. He plays a game where injuries can happen and fact that he was using his body a fair bit past month or so tells you the type of player you have - will play through things like a shoulder that needs some surgery. If you want to cheer for a sport where the players never get injured, perhaps table tennis might work for you? I don't know. Perhaps blisters happen or twisted ankles. Not sure. 4
