2016 Canucks Development Camp Roster

Zhukenov looked a ton more comfortable out there then last year...looks a little bigger too.

Joulevi...very smooth skater, all passes were on the tape, and a great stick defensively.

Boeser and Demko both looked strong and confident out there. Have no doubt they will be on the team sooner rather than later.

Lockwood...great skater, nice explosion off the start.  Looks promising.

Wasn't too impressed with Abols. Big guy, but didn't show too well today, IMO.

Or he plays for the Comets?

I could have said Canucks/Comets-coloured, but the point being that he had his pro gear ready to go in time for dev camp rather than only taking time after signing to start designing them.

Nice work. Thanks for this. Did you get a chance to look at stukel at all?

Yup, liked him too.  Nice shot, especially in tight.  Saw him roof it a couple times, good backhand too.  Shifty, fast and tenacious with the puck or in pursuit.  Looked a little small out there(most of our forwards were on the small side I think), but didn't seem to impact his play at all.  Maybe because he has some decent weight to him...listed at 6' 182.  Which was probably middle of the pack size wise.

Yeah, as if they'd rather be waving their flags and drinking than playing hockey at or near the professional level.

Kids it was a joke, maybe not a great one but none the less. By the way turn on a US channel tonight and see how lavish the celebration is ..maybe rates higher than Christmas in the US of A right after Thanksgiving

I'm sure it does but these kids probably don't care much for it this year other than a quick tweet or something like that.

I'm hoping to go tomorrow from Nanaimo.   Who all have you guys seen there besides the players obviously.  Has there been any sightings of the scouting staff like Delorme and Gradin? Smyl? Only asking cause I have some pictures I would love to get signed for my basement wall!

Does anyone know what the whole schedule in nanaimo is for? Is the photo op for fans? Or what's going on there?

Saw coach Willie, lidster, Jarvis, clothier.  Saw Benning and most of the training staff hanging around.

PITB will probably post something on the rest of the invitees within the next day or so.

Looks like Canucks Army's pGPS tool predicts Carcone, D'Aoust, Burghardt, Maksimovich, and Galipeau have the best chances of actually becoming NHL players.

Burghardt actually stood out to me in a good way during the drills. However, once the line rushes started and he needed to finish the plays, that shine definitely lost its luster.

The shot and hands on boeser, just wow. Showed good speed but still need to work on his first stride.

Impressed with stecher, quick and plays bigger than he looks.

Juolevi is smooth as smooth can be although they didn't do much to showcase the d men today. One 2 on 1 drill he stopped 3 consecutive passes.

Stukel was quick, and beautiful hands.

Lockwood was explosive, but seemed very light on his feet, almost like he was floating. Not necessarily a bad thing but perhaps knocked off the puck easier.

@Knucklehd was correct in saying Abols did not show well. Perhaps nerves but he seemed to mess up almost every drill.

Stewart looked better as a d man than he did at forward last year. Swift for a big guy and usually in good position.

Zhukenov for me was very inconsistent. He would make a beautiful play and then the next he would rush it or move the puck to quickly.

That's all off the top of my head, will post more if any thoughts come to me.
