Point made.  Commit to winning or commit to rebuilding.  Your pissing me off Benning. Make moves and make something happen. Out with the coach or make a damn trade.

Guys you are overreacting, we have won 2 out of the last 4 games! This retool can still work we are only 6 points out of a playoff spot and another first round exit

On the bright side, that was probably our best 1st period all year, lots of traffic and shots, man Trymak can let er rip too. On the downside, we still had 2 periods to play

My take on this game, we need to grab that first goal because we only done that twice in the whole season so far.  This tells me that it is a coaching issue, not a roster personnel issue.as they have enough players who can score at anytime in the first period.  It is more of a match-up issue or the system deployment issues.   We have yet to see how the Canucks play with the lead and how their defensive structure stands out.    So this is the reason why we need to let go Willie asap.   It is not about how they play, it is about grabbing the first goal.

When you are chasing the game from behind, of course, it will catch up to you and makes the D look bad.   That is why the Canucks needs a different system to play with where they can stretch out all over the ice.  They even have Stecher on the ice and they don't take advantage of it because of the breakout, they do not stretch as much when it is 0-0 and when Stecher passes, it is not a big difference compared to other D just because of the positioning on where they are when the breakout happens.   Also, they all look to carry out most of the time, rather than strategically dumps it out from time to time where it helps to relieve the pressure.   If the Canucks plays the system differently, Stecher would thrive in this situation where he can see and pinpoint passes as evidenced by the PP unit in the o-zone.   We have the,  PMD and why not take this to our advantage in trying to break 0-0 tie.  Again, even if Sedin line is out there, the coach wouldn't play with them much according to defensive pairing rotation.  It is his on-ice philosophy on 1-2-3-4 applies with D pairing fails him as well in term of creating offense.   I don't even want to see 3rd pairing with the Sedin line on the o-zone even with Hutton/Guddy pairing as well.

This is the reason why we need a new coach where he can see things and deploy them with some success.    When you are chasing from the behind most of the time, it is going to catch you up and bring you down with lower morale all over the team.   That coach should slso have the guts to split up the Sedin from time to time and when they are reunited together, it will bring some jump to their Sedinery, even in PP, split them up as well from time to time.  We needs some balanced line-up and use the talents the Canucks have even if the depth is not that great.

What genius desperation trade will the Aquilini force Benning to make to save our playoff hopes? Will we ever have a stretch of 10 games at .500 or better? Can we even hockey?

Find out next time, on Canuck Ball Z!

The only good thing coming out of the Canucks being out of a playoff spot by 8 points at the trade deadline is that even Aquilini may be OK with letting go Miller and Burrows, if it's even possible.

Where the hell is Sven.  He was highly counted on this year.  The reason JB was looking for secon line scoring was because he didn't want to put pressure on Sven. Total disappointment.

Baertschi is really worrying. Totally non-competitive. Useless on the forecheck, not as fast as I remember him last season, drifting more than hustling, and blowing the  chances he does get.

The way the team has fallen hard after firing Alain Vigneault in 2013 ( yes only THREE years ago ) shows how important a good coach is for a winning attitude and a winning team. When you consider how well coached the Rangers are, you really see how much Canucks management screwed up in firing Alain Vigneault. While the Canucks slide to the bottom the Rangers have risen to the top of the league.

The Sedins have slid so far down in their confidence and level of play that we're now at a point where the option for them is to retire next year. No other team would take them now because they are slow and their scoring / passing has become something other teams know how to handle now. They had some amazing years for the Canucks but they are just pulling the team down, because they are not scoring or even creating scoring chances this year.

Loui Eriksson is a complete bust and there's no point in keeping him beyond this year. It's quite possible he could have been a good player with a better team, but on a crappy team like the Canucks he's reliant on himself to build his confidence and make things happen. He hasn't shown he can do that.

Where do they go from here? They aren't a good defensive team so that can't play low scoring games, but they have zero confidence to score so they left chasing no games without the firepower to catch up. The ONLY light I can see is who they can bring in if the Sedins, Eriksson, Burrows, Baertschi, and Dorsett. In terms of contracts and money, I don't know the details so maybe that's not even possible. They need to change players somehow though, because the energy has been sucked out of the building. The team really needs a major shake up now from Management all the way down to players.

Good luck with getting rid of him. If he finishes with 10-15 goals this season, no team is gonna be enticed into taking on a slow (in a faster by the minute league) aging player at $6 mil per for 5 more years, not unless it's a salary dump in which we'd get hosed on the trade (by including other good player(s) and/or pick(s) ).

We're stuck with him, so might as well try to set him up to succeed. That's not gonna happen with WD giving him no 1st unit PP time, or 5 on 5 time, with the Sedins.

The bizarre part about this post is that theres only a three point spread between 29th to 21st....5 of these teams are projected playoff teams by the experts.

The Canucks defensemen and goalie taking a lot of heat tonight defensively as the they should but the forwards were horrible at taking their man and we're a big part of a lot of goals against tonight maybe even more to blame. The giveaways and horrible back check and coverage in scoring areas was a disgrace I hope the coaches give it to them after this debacle.

It takes all 6 players to defend properly against a team that potent especially the way the Rangers were making miraculous things happen with their chances.

I'm hoping Tanev is back soon he needs to eat some of Gudbransons minutes and bring some stability back and Benning is going to have to make a trade for some real offense.

Canucks on pace for 63 points, sit 26th in the standings and lead the league with losses (10).  Canucks have scored 34 goals, that's 38 less than league leading Rangers (72).  According to Benning, this is a competitive environment?

Top Canuck rookie in points:  Stecher (3) is 40th in rookie scoring.

Maple Leaf rookies have 21 goals.  Canuck rookies have 1 goal.

The Utica Comets (3-8-1) are dead last in AHL standings.

According to Benning, this team is building for the future?

WD is going to be fired soon.  But this mess isn't his fault.
