A petition to ‘save’ Alberta from Canada has been started by American Lhris Ceeson.

Ceeson says Alberta’s values side more with those of the values of the United States and that Albertans deserve better than the hatred they receive from the rest of Canada and the Canadian government.

So far, the petition has 1,164 votes, saying it only needs 336 more votes for the petition to be sent to President Trump.

The Canadian province of Alberta deserves better than the hatred it receives from the rest of Canada and its government. The values of Albertans are more accurately reflected by those of the United States of America. As a state, Alberta would be able to regulate its own healthcare, minimum wage, gun laws, and remain relatively the same should Albertans decide such.

Should Albertans decide to secede from Canada, President Trump must take immediate action to offer statehood and annex the province if necessary.

Here’s a look at some of the comments from supporters:

Actually Hawaii, Alaska, Yukon, BC, Washington, Oregon, California, and Baja California make one new country. Pacifica.

Lots of industry, resources, Oil, Sugar, Lumber, LNG, and areas with nice sandy beaches, and fishing.

We'll fly Boeing Aircraft, drive Teslas, and have our own constitution and get rid of the fat cat politicians.

Hell, you can even make weed legal and tax it. Use the hemp for rope, and clothing. Win-win situation all around.

Don't know that one, but this one, Cascadia, has been around since the 90's:

Cascadia is a bioregion and possible proposed country located within the western region of North America. Potential boundaries differ, with some drawn along existing political state and provincial lines, and others drawn along larger ecological, cultural, political, and economic boundaries.

The country might consist of Washington, Oregon, portions of other U.S. states and British Columbia, Canada. At its maximum extent, Cascadia would stretch from coastal Southeast Alaska in the north into Northern California in the south, and inland to include parts of Idaho, Western Montana, Wyoming, and Yukon. More conservative proposed borders include the land west of the crest of Cascade Range, and the western side of British Columbia.

As measured only by the combination of present Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia statistics, Cascadia would be home to slightly more than 15 million people (15,105,870), and would have an economy generating more than US$675 billion worth of goods and services annually.[5][6][7] This number would increase if portions of Northern California, Idaho, and Southern Alaska were also included. By land area Cascadia would be the 20th largest country in the world, with a land area of 534,572 sq mi (1,384,588 km2), placing it behind Mongolia.[8] Its population would be similar in size to that of Ecuador, Guatemala, or Zambia.

Cascadia, whatever, it's not the first time I've heard it, still makes more sense.

I'm not taking credit for anything. They've had a Western Canada Concept in the 1970's as well.

Doug Christie, was president of the party for a while irc. He, as a lawyer, willing to defend some disgusting clients. Which is to his credit, it can't be easy, but for our system to work it needs to be done.

Pretty sure the vested interests, and current power base would never let it happen.

... after all, Ammurica needs oil.

The Tar Sands project was a high risk project from the beginning.  It has an ending.. and I believe it was initially funded by all tax payers of Canada.

If the "Albertans" who live there, do not want to be part of Canada,. then they should leave.

If these "Albertan's" were smarter, or even simply progressive... they would stop work in the Sands and demand that Oil Refineries be set up in their province to double the employment and wealth from the entire Industry Itself.

The problem is that this beautiful Country we will in, has given away its Raw Resources in almost every sector, for almost 200 years..

We have settled for that to be normal...  I for one, am unsettled with that.

I believe that by exporting all resources in a finished, or manufactured products. . the export taxes or tariffs collected for those products leaving our country, could eventually cover most of the cost of our social infrastructure,. Thus allowing our personal taxes to be much lower, possibly a flat rate..  leaving us all with more money to recirculate back into our economy.

Wood = Lumber = Building Supplies = Furniture

Mining = Steel = Prescious Metals

Oil = Fuels

We are not a country of 350 million consumers, the U.S. is.

We are a country of roughly 40 million, sitting on a wealth of resources that should never be "given away".
