Was thinking the exact same thing. 

Smaller ice surface = only limited open ice available.

No, we won't. If the expansion draft takes place in 2020, we won't have anything to worry about.

I thought Dahlén was deemed “age 20” for the purposes of expansion and currently burning through the first year of his SPC. 2017-18 would then be his first professional year and he should be considered a “third year professional” by 2020 (and expansion eligible).

ah OK thanks for the clarification. I still think we'll be in pretty good shape for the Seattle expansion draft.
