Brock's second goal was just a thing of beauty. Great stick handling and deking Rennie inside out with lightning quick hands. He's not only the best rookie but he's quickly becoming one of the league's best players. Already among the leaders in goals and points.

Somewhere in the world Murray is bed ridden watching all those lucky goals tickle the twine.

I compared Brock's shot to Laine's last summer or before....some on here were incredulous that I should think Brock's shot is anywhere near as good....

Laine has 17 points in 25 games...the same total as Baerstchi....Brock has 25 points in 23 games...

Anyone care to complain about that comparison now....?

Brock is a lock.....like I have been saying for over a year now....this time ....for the Calder....

Murray had Fleury to get the team to the playoffs so that he can save energy for the playoffs and get all the glory for "carrying" his team to the cup. Now he has to handle the full season load and clearly he can't as evidenced by his mediocre stats. Plus, he is now injured. Shows how lucky he has been to win the Stanley cup behind the stacked Pens team and an experience goalie in Fleury got the team there.

Murray has been a lucky $OB. Maybe that's why he thinks everyone else is just lucky.

Both Sergachev and Subban are putting up pretty good seasons as well so far so they could be a winner too. But normally they just give it to the guy with the most points.

This will be the year when Boeser leads all rookies in points and they will give it to Sergachev or Subban for whatever reason they decide is more important than points.

Neither Sergachev (who is getting a lot of PP time/points being on arguably deepest and best team in NHL) or Subban will win this trophy.   Boeser may not be in the final mix if out for too long but up until right now it was Boeser and Barzal with Keller/Butcher as dark horses.   Barzal is head and shoulders ahead of Sergachev/Subban who would likely be (and remain) behind Butcher and Keller.

Funny thing about this award, it is the one that often goes to the player with the better second half.

Also Keller is a -20, I don't see him being in the race mid-end of the season.

No one voting for the Calder will look at +/-

They know his team sucks. If he ends up with more points than Barzal and Boeser,he'll win. If not, he'll lose.

If they are close, you know the league wants Keller to win over Boes and Barzal. As Bettman would say “It’s good for the game”.
