[Rumour] Ducks exploring trade market for Corey Perry

They are going to be a bad team for a couple years regardless, might as well just keep him.

Just goes to show you the "loyalty" franchises have for their players. Guy wins you a Cup and is your flagship player for 15 years, the moment he isn't useful to you, you dump him.

That's why I 100% support players using any labour power they have to get max money, max term and strong clauses in their contracts. In the end, the teams don't give a &^@# about their players, it's up to the players to look out for themselves.

Perry (no retention) + #9 for Baertschi

Anaheim is rebuilding.  They are going to keep their picks.

If they can't move Perry it's likely per LeBrun that they buy him out.

The thing is If the Canucks ice an actual playoff competitive team, Corey Perry will show up. I don't care how banged up he is. He is a competitor and we need guys with that compete level. He may not be the guy who steers the ship anymore, but he can be a top 6 forward for us if we can ice a better team.

I hear she’s a real Firework. Could be a real Dark Horse for us. Don’t want her to be the One That Got Away....

I’ll show myself out...

Both of these made me ‘Roar’.

Where’s the door?

Perry was once a “teenage dream” of mine to be in van.

His career has been “Hot n Cold”

Now Im guessing he’ll be “waking up in vegas”

keep the door open gents.

Seeing lots of comments that indicates some believe Perry still has it. He doesn't. Perry is pretty much useless and has a lot more negative value as an asset than LE.

With that contract I'm not even sure I'd do LE for Perry + their #9 pick.

Hope your joking. Perry is worse of a player and higher cap hit!

There is no way anyone will want this guy at his rate.

If he is bought out and still wants to play, it would be pending his medical/physical  and willingness to sign for a 1M/year special.

2 years though would line up with Hughes and Peterson contracts though so I would do it just for contract length

Very false. Perry’s contract ends 1 year sooner.

Half joking. Perry's contract ends sooner, so there's some benefit.

Doubt the Ducks want Loui anyway.

Considering both teams are rebuilding, I don’t see either giving up picks or prospects.

If he gets traded he goes east with ANA eating some salary cap.

2 more years left on his contract.

NYI FLD CAR are some teams should have interest.

COL in west also needs to consider

Perry being a cap dump it would be sickeningly funny if JB gave up valuable assets (not Baer) to get him.

He won't come to Canucks.

But if JB wants him That's the cost.

Read post above.. FLD NYI CAR COL

Add BFS

Florida wants to go after Panarin and might have to off-load Hoffman who just came off a 70pt season to create cap space.  They have no room for Perry.

NYI wants to be aggressive in free agency.  Trotz talks about how they lack high end talent up front.  That's not Perry anymore.  They are also a great skating team.

Carolina is all speed - probably the fastest team in the league.  He wouldn't be able to keep up.

Colorado is similar to Carolina - young and fast. Sakic talks of free agency and the team improving.  Don't think he wants to use a roster spot on a slowing down veteran.

It's hard to see a landing spot for him with the league so much faster.

I'd gladly take Perry for Eriksson.

This works out well for both teams. Anaheim doesn’t have any huge contracts coming up (Kase or Ritchie won’t break the bank) vs Vancouver with Hughes and Pettersson.

This gives Anaheim more cap space for signings in the short term.

Anaheim is rebuilding.  They are trying to move Perry because they want to give his ice time to their prospects.  They don't need the cap space and don't want to add veterans.  If they can't find a partner they will buy him out.
