Not sure if this was referenced somewhere else in the GDT, might just be spin from the Canucks, but might also be explanation of why Linden wasn't at the opening ceremony.

My initial understanding: — Linden is out-of-town, booked trip months ago — He has been invited to 50th anniversary events by the Canucks with ownership’s blessing, including: Feb. 10 legends night (Linden, Smyl, Naslund, Bure) to kickoff Sedin Celebration Week 1/2
