There’s a rumour circulating twitter that he’s being sent to Calgary along with Poehling and a 1st for Gaudreau. No reputable reporter has mentioned it though so I highly doubt it’s legit

Geez, heads would roll with the thought of Domi and Tkatchuk in the same team. Just absolutely drive the other team bonkers

Why would anyone want to touch Domi. Arizona trades him away, Montreal wants to trade him away and limits his ice time. Both are rebuilding teams in need of young solid players. Must be something wrong with Domi.

Domi wants to play C. With the unexpected emergence of Suzuki and Kotkaniemi at C he’s been used mostly as a winger.  Montreal has other holes in the lineup so he’s a valuable trade chip.  There are also rumours that he doesn’t get along with Julien.

During their playoff defeat to Philly Domi at times seemed to be the only guy on the ice that cared.

I guess they should trade him then because Bergeron seems pretty inept at building a winner despite being given many good opportunities in the draft.

Montreal should trade Weber and Price for young stars/top picks.  They need a couple more years of true rebuilding. This mishmash team needs a desperate overhaul. Also, too many small players in that team. They looked like school kids up against the Flyers.

Montreal took Philly to 6 games and dominated most of gave 6. If not for a couple bad bounces it would have gone to 7. They actually matched up very well against Philly.

I'd jump all over a Domi deal. Depending on the ask. No Hoglander or Podkolzin.

Other than Boeser Vancouver doesn’t really have a piece they would move that would interest Montreal. Even then Boesers skating doesn’t fit with Montreal’s team speed

It was all because the “Price was right”. Take him out if the equation and the Habs would have been swept in their round before the playoffs had began.

Having a crappy team with arguably the best goalie in the NHL (as voted by the players 3 years in a row) is not a good recipe.

Carter Hart was almost as good.  He certainly stole game 6.  Montreal was more than just Price in that series.  The controlled the players for large portions but they didn’t have the finish to put the puck in the net enough.

Montreal needs Centers and size.

Calgary needs competent goaltending and better C

No deal here.

Montreal does not need centres.  Domi wants to play centre but is forced to wing.  Suzuki and Kotkaniemi have pushed Danault to a defensive C3 role in the play-ins and he's not happy about it.  He just told media that he's not ready to accept being a shutdown C and wants to be in an offensive C role.  He now openly wonders if he'll want to re-sign in Montreal (he is UFA in a year).

so if MTL is looking for size and speed on the wing, why not a Domi - Jake trade?

Because they’re looking for a scoring winger. Someone how can bury the chances that a guy like Kotkaniemi will set up. Virtanen hasnt shown any scoring prowess (excluding one WHL season where he was a man against boys). He’s like a bigger version of Byron.  Fast but no hands.  (Except Byron is an excellent penalty killer).

sure but Domi's not going to get you a 30 goal winger. Jake on the other hand should be good for 20-22.
