Sounds like a terrible idea since the mandates serve a clear propose and most normal people don't want these parasites working in those industries.  There are plenty of jobs these idiots can apply for that do not have these requirements.  Bottom line is none of their demands are acceptable.

Most of these people have jobs that most other people don't want to do, most of the protesters aren't white collared. We need farmers, carpenters, and long haul truck drivers.

And we have them.  If the idiots protesting won't do what's necessary to retain their jobs, there are plenty of potential immigrants who would love to have the opportunity.

For those who think the terrorists should be negotiated with, here's noted lefty Doug Ford's take.  Keep in mind this is from the level of government responsible for most of the mandates.

What is like 80-85%+ of the truckers are vaccinated?  It's these cowboy wannabees are the ones protesting.  Their protest just got co-opted by the far right in Alberta.

Also in Ottawa, the arrival of the Native People’s Caravan in 1974. This excerpt is from an article by the author who tweeted the picture.

“When we got to the Hill we saw soldiers with bayonet guns — some kind of honour guard — and RCMP lined up in ranks of tour in front of the Parliament Buildings. First Louis Cameron spoke presenting our demands and asking Trudeau or an Indian Affairs official to come and talk to us. They are elected to serve the heeds of Native people too — they should respond to what we have to say. We stood and waited for some government representatives to show up and talk to us. No one came. We said we would give them 25 minutes to send someone out. Two hours later we were still standing there waiting. We got there at 1:30 pm and at 4:00 we still stood waiting…”

“We were unarmed men, women and children. And their riot squad came and started beating us. We fell down on our backs, our hands and knees and they kept on smashing at us with their sticks. Didn’t matter if we were retreating — they were trampling and smashing up…”

“There were soldiers there, and tanks and bayonets to back up the police. There to protect Trudeau and his likes, I guess. And they obey even if people are unarmed. Then the riot squad came on over the loudspeakers and started telling us to move, and we were driven onto the street. Lots of people could hardly walk — their brothers and sisters walked beside them, holding them up. The drums were beating.”

“Later that night back at the Embassy one young brother collapsed. He had been badly injured and had been coughing and spitting blood, but he didn’t tell anyone. He collapsed later that night. We took him to the hospital. I don’t know how many of our people went to hospital. They put in the paper a list of how many RCMP were injured, but not how many Indians.”

Putting an end to vaccine mandates for essential workers that will only be around for another month anyways seems like a good battle to fight to the end. If anything this protest is going to deter people from wanting to live in Ottawa even more than they already do (-30 weather, the sens, and a serious rat problem in the downtown core).

Does anyone realize that non vaccinated healthcare workers are back working? Not making that public but my son works in a hospital where that is happening. The point health care people were making was that they worked in that environment for a year before the vaccines arrived and wanted to use the same protocols. My son and his wife got the shots but would not let my 10 year old grand daughter get a shot.

Two weeks from now Omicron will probably be 75% fizzled out and everyone will be looking pretty stupid, Canada lost 200k job in January which can devastating to families so hopefully the government doesn't drag this on to make a point. US added 467,000 jobs in January which is strange.

Organizers of the Freedom Convoy that has gridlocked downtown Ottawa for the last week are facing a $9.8-million class-action lawsuit over relentless horn noise, filed on behalf of residents of the city's downtown core.

https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/lawsuit-filed-against-convoy-organizers-seeking-damages-on-behalf-of-downtown-ottawa-residents-1.5768731

Also radio reports of the same in the works for the Alberta blockade.

The protest leaders have said the protest is continuing  because goverment had not complied with their demands. Their demands are illegal and violate the charter rights of Canada ( forced removal of elected officials and forced removal of their authority )

Man this is going to get real and fast. Protesters are going to learn  that the law actually applies to them and they gave up nearly all rights when the protest and demands become illegal ....

I hope they get their injection tomorrow and they start siezing trucks and removing the people who are blocking access. Arrest and permanently deport any foreign nations caught in the protest

Good thing they held on to 9.1 million out of the 10.1 collected st go fund me ...... their going to have a bill to pay I'd wager

Covidiots false flag protest for their freedum

Eventually my hope is that is becomes equivalent to the flu, where yearly shots are available and but not mandatory, might be a couple years before that level though.

The antivaxxers still cost the medical system, so we need a tax credit for those who get their annual flu shot and any needed Covid booster too.

We were talking about that this morn.

Weren't 60% part time jobs? Maybe from the holidays?

And 4th quarter last year was 4 times what was forecasted so maybe that was a bit of correction/part timer ans as you say omicron restrictions.
