The other 2 I agree with, but I've seen the same thing about Toffoli parroted ad nauseum around here, and it needs to stop. This is on Benning though. 7 years is a long time. There were so many obvious moves he should have made and didn’t. His asset management has been horrible and when he said he wanted to address the defence, he brought in Schmidt and the Hamonic at the end. There weren’t any major changes to it. We have no defenseman who keeps the opposing team accountable. They are soft. How much more time do you give Benning? I have no faith when he says we ran out of time when it was the money he spent that put the team in that position on the first place.

Only Marky would of made a difference right now but he's the one guy we had to let go since Demmer makes more sense with age.

 

JB hasn't looked good but the team play is pretty much the same minus a elite MVP goalie.

Hockey was so much better during the WCE era. The rivalries and battles. Bert vs Jackman, Phaneuf, etc. The game is so soft now. Sure it’s faster and more skilled but doesn’t make it more entertaining. Players don’t even try half the time during the regular season.

Team sure looks like a group who’ve played the toughest schedule to start the year and never really found a rhythm after all the offseason turnover. No proper offseason.  Get tuned up by former players.  They’re obviously rattled and haven’t had any chance to reset.    It actually makes sense some sense in a classic “perfect storm” Canuck luck kind of way.

I never thought I'd say this , but I have Zero confidence Jim Benning knows what he is doing outside talent analysis.  This off season was obviously an epic fail , not just on the ice , but in the room. We need a big change
