omg I wish... he'd be the talk of the game or close to the top.. that boy has a built in overdrive that you seldom see compared to most guys, can't replicate that, it's built in naturally.. we need more player's like that and not just in a "sparkplug" bottom 6 type either, he's the real deal and his ceiling? wow ummm with skills like that? who knows! people have said things about his lack of scoring but who can with next to no playing time for as long as that was, but you always knew when he was on the ice buzzing around controlling the puck or trying to read and position for a fast steal.. that's nothing but determined hockey sense... I'm sooooo looking forward to watching that young skilled pitbull going ears back!

Any one whos watched a single period of hockey in their life would take Petro over Schmidt. .

 

Before his play in vancouver.... even when Schmidt was playing great in vegas.

 

There is no comparison between those 2 players.

The only reason they chose Pietrangelo over Schmidt is because Pietrangelo is a #1D and Schmidt is a #3D. They also had to move cap and he made the most sense.

Schmidt is a 4 at best.  

We are stuck with his massive contract for a while.  Hes not going to magically get better in his 30s.

Notice how most goals va Canucks are due to brutal turnovers and give aways..

 

Other teams don't have this type of abysmal decision making processes. It speaks to the skill level and IQ of individual players not the system.  It also speaks to "chemistry" the make up of the team isn't cohesive at the moment and will continue to need development before turning into a true fluid machine.
