Bull$&!#. One of the NHL darling teams makes fun of exploiting the cap while we pay Luongo's cap recapture. NHL is a bad joke.

How/why are they one of the darling teams? Tampa isn't nearly as big of a market as some other franchises.

Hockey team in a nontraditional American market, like Florida, Atlanta, and Arizona

Whether they were a top team or not, they'd still be an NHL pet project

Atlanta is gone, but it took so much futility to move them, and even then we've still got the rebranded Arizona Coyotes

They're def a darling imo, not like Boston/NYR/Chicago, but they're up there imo, particularly given their past decade of success

And even if I'm off base, the making fun of the cap/us paying Luongo duality still exists

Our situation and Tampa's are not identical.

If the league was all about giving favours to those markets, there wouldn't have been such a strict penalty to Arizona for the draft scouting scandal.

Fat Pat sit on it?

Holy sh$& just when you thought this team couldn’t get more obnoxious…

They’re like that obnoxious guest that comes to your house party, gets shnockered and thinks it’s hilarious to swing from the light fixtures and and dance on the tables. Leave the place trashed and then act like you’re a stick-in-the-mud for getting upset.

People here call it “personality” but between this damage to the Stanley Cup and Vasilevsky parading around with Conn Smythe Trophy on top of his head it’s just a lack of class and respect.

For Tampa?

Yep... just another shot at Kuch and the $100M team.

Dunno if it is just me, but when you have someone play their first game, after missing every game since winning the Cup the year before, and leads the team's forwards in ice time suggests to me he was ready to play prior to that.

He also led Tampa forwards in ice time in game 2.  And led all forwards from both teams in game 3.  And he might have led Tampa forwards in game 4, but left with an injury due to a slash.  Came short in game 5, but led Tampa forwards again in game 6.

If they at least eased him in, one could imagine he was getting back into game shape.  Nope, he was good to go.

Something was rotten in the state of Florida... more than the usual swampiness.  That Cup win deserves an asterisk, if you ask me.
