Are we really already in panic mode?  It's a little early yet.

No one is in panic mode. It’s more reality mode. You look at Stanley cup winning teams. They have amazing defense and pk killers. We don’t have that and that is a concern. The experiments have been awful so far. 28th worst in preseason.

It just feels like the gm leaves holes in the lineup so they have excuses in the end as to why the season didn’t go the way they expected. I am really worried about the pk and our right side defense. These holes are huge and it’s why most don’t expect the Canucks to do much in the division. I am frustrated because we can see what’s going to happen before the season even starts.

Motte, Sutter, and Hamonic change our penalty kill look quite a bit.

That being said we still haven’t been able to build up sustainable depth on the farm in all the years Benning has been here. We’re still left cycling through a mish mash AHL signings every season in order to build our bottom 6.

Exactly. There is nothing after them. It’s a big concern.

If we are, let’s say, 6 games into the regular season with our full lineup and we are seeing results like it’s looking like we will see tonight, then sure, sound some alarm bells.

But way too premature to panic like some are doing after a period in which we couldn’t stay out of the box. Discipline is one of the easier things to fix.

Discipline is from lack of ability to play the system.

If this lineup contains players Green wants in his bottom 6 Im a little worried.

Reality is that it IS preseason and it's not really anything to worry about at this point.

Agree with you on this which is what makes loosing Gadjovich on waivers sting that little extra...
